I am very much interested in actual networking with African-American small businesses, especially bookstore owners and operators. I recently opened up my book shop. I feel like I am on an island...

@L-Ouverture, I’m sorry you feel that way, but after 25 years of dealing in the book world. I can understand why you might feel that way.

Truth be told, I’m not aware of anyone doing what i do, so I’m on an island of sorts myself.

I see your store is on my list of Black-owned bookstores: https://aalbc.com/bookstores/store.php?store_name=L%26rsquo%3Bouverturebooks.com, so you are not entirely on an island by yourself 🙂

There is group of Black bookstore owners who meet once a month, I believe, maybe you can connect with them. Reach out to Ramunda Young at Mahogany Books.
