Dr. Imani J. Walker is a physician trained in Adult Psychiatry. She has a private practice in Southern California caring for acutely ill psychiatric patients including those with substance abuse issues and eating disorders, as well as providing mental health care to the homeless and indigent populations.

She has written about mental health and holistic wellness and has been featured as a guest commentator on Gawker, Grio, The Root, KTLA, Fox 5 Los Angeles, Essence Magazine and others. She was also named as Essence Magazine’s “Woke 100.” She received her bachelor’s from Xavier University and Master’s in Science in Public Health from Tulane University. Dr. Walker later obtained her medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and trained Temple University and UCLA.

She lives in Los Angeles and is a cast member of Married to Medicine: Los Angeles, Bravo’s #2 show. Stitcher Networks debuted a new podcast hosted by Dr. Walker, Imani State of Mind, on June 25, 2020 which focuses on normalizing and destigmatizing mental illness in the Black community.
