Celebrating books written by or about Black people, the African American Literature Book Club’s Bestsellers List has been published continuously since 1998. In 2026, we began publishing our list quarterly, focusing on The BLK Bestsellers.
The Killens Review of Arts & Letters, edited by Mudiwa Pettus, makes out fiction list for the 3rd consecutive period. Never Saw Me Coming: How I Outsmarted the FBI and the Entire Banking System—And Pocketed $40 Million by Tanya Smith, debuts at #1 on our nonfiction list. Our own, Jelani’s Key by D. Amari Jackson, tops our children’s list for the 6th time.
