We will begin this group by reading the introduction and first two chapters of Malidoma Some's "Of Water and the Spirit", a powerful, engaging and challenging journey through Malidoma's early indigenous life in Burkina Faso/West Africa, kidnapping by French jesuit priests, cultural disintegration, escape, powerful initiation back into the culture of his people and then the legacy of his name, "make friends with the enemy" that has brought him all over the world to share the gift, liberation and healing of indigenous spiritual traditions to a modern world deeply in need of shifted paradigms in personal transformation, spirit and communal connection.
