Tutorial for a dragon
What story made you fall in love with fantasy?
difficult. The earliest fantasy tale I can think of is high john the conqueror or anansi. In my household my parents loved telling stories. the earliest I will say is, high john the conqueror. 
What dragon character is your favorite?
Well, what determines a dragon is complicated. Does a dragon need wings? need to have blood, can it be a robot? so, I will answer this question in parts. my favorite dragon from antiquity is the Dragon that Ra or Horus depending on the telling rides on the Nile. I love that blue color. My favorite dragon in cartoon world is smog in the rankin bass lord of the rings. The first film/live action dragon I saw was falcor and yes, I have to get to that museum in germany where you can ride him. My favorite dragon villain is... Mecha Godzilla, the original Toho or the modern. 
What tutorial would you like to see next?
For me, any. I see myself as a mature artists. I like the way I draw. I am satisfied. No artists can do it all. So, any tutorial is great. For me, I collect it all and maybe a story or two will come from them one day 
...
I used only one tool. I find with tutorials, artists like to use too many tools. the common child in humanity does not have a computer. Computer's cost money. Does not have food. Food costs money. so, I try to do tutorials intentionally with one affordable tool. I have a computer and equipment to act through electronic art processes. But, that isn't something that can translate to a kid with one crayon or pencil. 
So, I made the dragon, I used thicker lines for definition. I used line drawing or shading to represent different colors. In each step I followed the prior steps, growing the character.

headless horseman dragon
I am thinking of fall already and I thought what about a headless dragon. I used a similar style as in a deviantart tutorial, cited in the image below. 
I want to add as in my version of the tutorial. YOu can use draft lines to create different intensities which can depict foreground background, light ,shadow. A closer look to the image will show different lines about the body, you can use that to show differentiation of color absent multiple colors.

1960s fashionable dragon
Me and FlapperFoxy  talked about fashion on one of her pieces.

and it made me think in concert to the dragon tutorial, what if a dragon had a similar dress. So like the tutorial, I used only one pencil, one page, draft lines representing different colors.  I didn't make a second version, this image was scanned from the only attempt. I mirrored some of Flapper's style with her work above. But we talked about a proper back out for a female with tale. On closer inspection you can see the dress has a zipper from top to bottom, and something in my mind is similar to a sewing hoop that allows for adjustment to suit her whenever she needs. Since it is a zipper skirt I figured it will have a pattern perpindicular to the pattern flapper used in her work. One side is a block color while the other side is multicolor or shaped.

What else would you draw in a picture with a dragon?
I made a headless dragon for my idea, so my dragon was holding its head but I can also see a pearl or some objectanything can be held by a dragoneven luck

Anything is fine. The key for any artists is to look at competitions or tutorials as invitationals. Either invite the artists to create, so do so technique can always be judged but contentment is something the artist must learn to have to their work gardless what others say or do.

Your task is to write a tale inspired by Griffin, The Invisible Man. What if he lived after getting beaten by the townsfolk? What if his research in the inn of the Hall's bears results early, before he lost all money and his sanity ? What if Thomas Marvel doesn't betray him but becomes a loyal companion? What if Kemp learns the process? What did he do that wasn't mentioned traveling around the town invisible? When did he first get the idea of becoming invisible at school? Who was his favorite teacher at school, and how did they relate?


From making an alternative world version, to adding unknown elements to the character, you are free to imagine this public domain character, how ever you want. Without using AI or similar machine learning tools, write a short story inspired by The Invisible Man now?!

TITLE: Immaculant Motherhood


It is a wet , cold, Saturday evening in Kilmarnock; a distrusting woman enter a whiskey smelling bar in the outskirts to get a seat; she hold something dear, wrapped in a blanket, and fight through raucous people.
"Damn Gyppo": a man push the woman uncaringly hard and she turn in the air to make sure her wrapping is not injured; tired, she lay on the floor; she begin to sleep, when a gentle hand touch her shoulder, and the man attached to the hand pick her up and place her gently in a seat. After moments, she become aware and thank the kind man.
He replies: "I apologize for my kin, the whiskey gets them ... I am Luke... here is some milk for your baby"
The woman take the milk gently, so a drop does not spill; Luke smile while the woman pull back the blanket, rubbing the air, and pour milk into the blanket. Luke shake his head, giggling at his own inebriation, and ask: "Are you here to meet the father?"
"No, her father died ten months ago, beaten to death by villagers"
"People can be cruel to Romani"
"He wasn't Romani... he was a deranged beast I wish I had not encountered"
The woman put the empty bottle own and continue: "Arran... and I thank you my name is Yesenia"
"I have a spare room, you and the baby can use it"
"Thank you, if we can get it tonight, we will be invisible come sun light"

The problem with most non white european male groups in the usa is white male europeans forced their leadership to be financially impotent advocates. Who didn't work in th ebureaucray or have the money to lobby the bureaucracy, which made their advocacy pure. Their was no profit. But, in modernity, all the non white male european groups have bureaucratic members who have replaced the advocates of the past but lack the advocates of the pasts qualities in poignant agendas, earnestness in desire to help their specific populace.
And that has created in many non white european male populaces in the United States of America a rift between their masses an their elected officials.

MY THOUGHTS

@undefined @undefined @undefined the key is what separate black leaders in the past from today.
Sharpton is a leader, Obama is a leader, but all of these people are employees. The key to Colonel Tye to MAlcolm X is that for most of the 250 years of usa history and most of the 500 years since the white european colonies in the modernly called american continent, black leaders were unpaid financially disconnected advocates. They never made money, didn't have any money to make, and always had a hill to climb whether violently or nonviolently with whites, which usually meant they died in terms of agenda, unhappy.
Post 1960s, the Black advocates were killed or stymied and the Black elected official came to be the primary leadership in the black populace of the usa today. Modernity has more black, female, asian, latino, native american elected officials and yet, blacks, women, latinos, native americans don't have advocacy in the government.
Sequentially, the styles are very different. Malcolm side MLK jr side Fannie Lu Maher were the last era of a majority of black leaders as advocates for black folk.
No money in the advocacy, no payment in the position. Pure what do black people need. And whether it was through violence like Nat Turner or demographic identity like Marcus Garvey or all the various other movements through the centuries, the advocates always were thinking about black betterment.
Sharpton had or has a show. It doesn't make him corrupt but it is different.
If you are going to be an advocate for black people, you can't be employed by whites or financed by whites of employed or financed by the usa government which primary agenda is the betterment of the white populace in the usa. Regardless of what non white fiscal wealth or opportunities arise. And all those who are financed by whites, ala a thurgood marshall/Sharpton/Obama/david dinkins have impotencies. Once an elected official he was impotent, but the reason isn't negative, simply structural.
Government in the usa is controlled by lobbies. What is the point? Lobbies pay to get the laws they want. Who has the money but whites.
Black success tends to be financially opposed by most lobbies , but the reason is even, cause most lobbies are white and their white financier is more than likely making money through suffering in the black populace.
So, I restate all to say, No black leader today is like black leaders in the past, but that is because the past demanded/allowed for advocacy by Blacks leaders as a primary tool. The primary tool for black leadership in the usa today is bureaucratic activity. Today, a black leader can want advocacy but usually operates within the bureaucracy so they never have a black agenda in their role. And I think the black populace in the usa, especially the descended of enslaved, wants their cake and eat it too.
And the reason is many Black DOSers in the USA want the Black community to grow and thrive while they also want the USA to be this land of individuals. and that is a very hard thing to achieve. And the reason it is hard isn't negatives but truth.
What the Native American needs, even for those that do not want, in the USA is to the detriment of all others in the usa. I rephrase, Native Americans should be given large tracts of land back all over the usa plus tons of back owed money. But that can't happen unless everyone else takes a financial and communal loss.
What Black Descended of Enslaved needs, even if they do not want, in the USA is to the detriment of all others. I rephrase, Black DOSers need what they have been denied by white violence constantly and that is their own governing space, along side like the native american , a ton of back pay.
What Whites want, not need, in the usa is to the detriment of all others, but is historically the sole point of why the usa was created. I rephrase, The usa wasn't created for everyone to benefit or for each individual to have, the USA was created for a set of white europeans descended from various fiscal poor of continental europe , to fiscally succeed no matter how.
What modern immigrants want, they don't need as well, is to the detriment of all others and potentially all humanity. I rephrase, what they want is a country that will allow a stranger to come in and have opportunities or advantages said stranger doesn't have where they come from, and to embrace their children as part of the country for no other reason than being a human being.
These four paths do not work together. Thus all the populaces in the usa are being poorl led today. None of the leaders can satisfy all four paths through the bureaucracy of the usa government

@Pioneer1 I think history proves my position towards advocates , who are not the only type of leaders in the black populace of the usa, is not theory but fact. And, what I suggested for blacks/Native Americans/Whites/ Modern immigrants is their current situation, not any action ahead. And, I didn't rank black leaders by any definitions of effectiveness, but ranked them in terms of their style, which is different based on time or strategy in the usa.

Here at FIYAH, it’s no secret that we LOVE horror—and y’all are damn good at writing it! Inspired by the film SINNERS, we want to celebrate the Southern Gothic renaissance with a special issue.
From August 20th to August 31st, FIYAH is accepting submissions for SINNERS, SAINTS, AND HAINTS. This issue is exclusive to reprinted stories, i.e. stuff that has already appeared in other magazines.
