It is 1989 and the Rydell High School senior prom is commencing. The prom king and queen are standing on the center stage. The prom king Danny Zuko Jr., DZJ most call him, has a crown like The Marvelous Magical Burger King. The prom queen Frances Facciano , Marianne most call her, wears a pink Phrygian cap with a cockade representing Rydell. DZJ tap the microphone: "Hi everybody! You know what time it is!"
All the children start to holler, and they move the tables and chairs to the back to make space centrally.
Marianne yell:" For the fifth loose dance off, we have a special treat! All our parents and guardians helped us prepare dances from the 50s but what only a few of us organizers knew was our parents would join in the fun!"
Outside the hall used for the prom, multiple engines can be heard revving up.
The hall doors open strongly and Danny Zuko and his loving wife Sandra, both silver haired, all clad in shiny black leather, enter the hall using the Four Corners dance. They are supported by a host of other silver-haired folks. Rizzo in a Sondra Dee outfit, holding hands with Kenickie in a penguin suit. Frenchy waving to the prom queen. Eugene Florczyk as a Burger Palace Boy and Patty as a Pink Lady enter. The children in the auditorium form a pathway to the center and surround their elders making thirty years dance together in the summer of 1989.
