Cynthia Erivo is in the entertainment business where it literally pays to be different. The GQ Man of the Year sh8t was unnecessary but such is case when we lack ownership. Powerless in telling these folks what is an acceptable representation of Black folks. No other group of people would be insulted that way. Unfortunately, Black folks aren't going to do anything about how we're being presented in print and visual media.
