  1. I write African American Historical Fiction books. Why, one may ask. Because “Until The Lion Tells The Story The Hunter Will Always Be The Hero.” I want my readers to feel like they have been transported to a different era in American history. The whileBlack Chronicles’ stories are about creative, sophisticated families who find a way to prosper “while-Black” regardless of the era or the obstacles. Book four in the whileBlack Chronicles’, “If Chicago Could Talk”, is about the thriving Black Metropolis of Bronzeville. It’s a fast-paced story about big-city segregation, politics, police, and criminals. The Thomas family has a new leader but is he ready? Chicago is not New Orleans. If you like to read you will enjoy this Black washed version of history.
  2. Exciting News! The greatly anticipated fourth book in the whileBlack Chronicles series, "If Chicago Could Talk", is set to be released in the week of July 15th. In this fascinating tale set in 1919, the Thomas family leaves New Orleans for Chicago as part of the Great Migration, seeking equality denied in the South. They are confident and optimistic until 6,000 National Guard troops meet them. Linda and Ben prepare their nephew Trey to lead the family through the dangerous landscape of a big city marred by segregation, police violence, and corruption. Is he ready? At the same time, they create a dangerous plan to remove real estate covenants banning whites from selling homes to Blacks. John Arceneaux, the Godfather of Bronzeville, fights to protect his territory from Italian and Irish mob bosses during prohibition but puts his trust in the wrong people. Tolliver Investigative Services is hired to find two missing women, one white and the other Black. Steeped in history and packed with action, "If Chicago Could Talk" is a fascinating tale of family resilience, heroism, and heartache. “Until The Lion Tells The Story The Hunter Will Always Be The Hero” African Proverb Click here to review the whileBlack Chronicles’ book series

  3. Until The Lion Tells The Story The Hunter Will Always Be The Hero The Great Migration: “All That Glitters Aint Gold” Welcome to 1900s Bronzeville, the heart of Chicago’s Black Metropolis. The Thomas family arrives hopeful and is met by 6,000 National Guard troops deployed to quell a race riot. Linda and Ben prepare their nephew Trey to lead the family through a big city backdrop of segregation, violence, and corruption. This whileBlack family saga is steeped in Chicago history and exploding with action. "If Chicago Could Talk" is a gripping tale of resistance, heroes, heroines, and heartache. The migration map details where your elders came from
  4. "Until The Lion Tells The Story The Hunter Will Always Be The Hero" I write an African American Historical Fiction series called "The whileBlack Chronicles." "If Chicago Could Talk" features a unique plot and distinctive characters. The story unfolds as the Thomas family joins the Great Migration in 1919, migrating to Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood. With a new family leader, they challenge segregation, crooked politicians, and racist police, all while gangsters fight for control during Prohibition—a story about The Black Metropolis, Chicago, The Business of Racism, and the Power of Black Families. The book will be available for purchase in July.

  6. I have a "homegrown" website. I'm asking readers to please visit. Any suggestions for improvement are appreciated. Is the website interesting? Would you refer anyone to it? I've attached posts on what I call the reasons people don't visit my website. Hopefully, it will bring a smile to your day.
  7. I suspect I’m one of a small handful of Black indie writers who write an African-American Historical Fiction series. I post daily on Instagram what I call this date in “white history.” It’s not Black history because to quote my favorite African Proverb: “Until the lion tells the story, the hunter will always be the hero.” Every day, I post an episode of white history describing murders of men, women, and children, court rulings declaring us less than human, and terrorism directed toward Black Americans somewhere in America. It’s called “this date in white history.” When you understand their history, you must write about it. We need to tell people about white history. The Klan bombed a civil rights icon’s home in Birmingham on December 25, 1956. On Xmas day! Teach white people their history of violence and bigotry. Will it make a difference? I don't know
  8. Before Podcasts, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and countless other outlets there were Black newspapers, magazines, and books to document our history. During the early days of segregation, they banned the Chicago Defender in the South! Now they want to whitewash history. The role of Black literature regardless of format is to preserve our incredible story for future generations. We need to tell the story our way. An African Proverb “Until the lion tells the story, the hunter will always be the hero.”
  9. that's a great idea.
  10. Do you read Black history books? Do you enjoy stories with remarkable characters? How about good vs evil thrillers? The WhileBlack Chronicles are meant for readers who enjoy all of the above! I want folks to understand how amazing we are. The best way for me to convey that is in a good story.

  12. History tells us we should be very concerned I have documented through the whileBlack Chronicles’ the Country’s violent response to maintain the status quo after slavery ended in 1865. I can only assume free Black people intimidated you to the point you fell back on what you do best. Fast Forward 2023: Homegrown terrorists are ready to protect white men hell-bent on getting elected and never leaving. Never underestimate the violence these people are capable of. The former governor of Arkansas said,” We will either win in 2024 by the ballot or the bullet.” But I’m amazed at folks who tell me they can't support Biden so they will either not vote or vote for a third party. If enough people do that, our lives will change, and not in a good way. If not Biden then any Democrat will be better than the alternative whomever it might be.
  13. How would I do that? I'm published on am*zon. When I have eBook promotions I post on AALBC

  15. I enjoy writing African-American historical fiction stories. The whileBlack Chronicles’ expose how truly terrifying it must have been for our Elders. We need to continue to tell our story. It’s a fascinating history of survival when told from a different perspective. Black literature is critical to our mental health. 18. Dee thanks for taking the time to read what I posted. Stay tuned I have other thoughts you might have an opinion on. lol
  19. The Senator from Florida, Marco Rubio, has woken from his slumber. He posted on Facebook, “Sadly, Daylight Saving Time is coming to an end yet again.” Such an important issue in the overall scheme of things. Thank you for your insight. Now he is proposing a bill to stop federal dollars from going to colleges that enable anti-American terrorist supporters. What the hell does that mean? How do demonstrations at Universities enable terrorist supporters? We have Nazis marching in Florida and you and the Governor are silent. I asked him to name the groups. No response. This is dangerous because Republicans can use this to affect voting from young people. Does that mean if students support Palestinians we can expel them? It depends on what’s added by the Republicans. What happens if they decide BLM is anti-American, and should be on the list? The FBI says the greatest threat to America is homegrown white terrorists. Politicians ignore this real threat. I don’t trust any Republican. This bill has the potential to expand to groups it did not intend to address and ignore the real threat. Your Thoughts

    The Vote

A brief history is in order. Black suffrage was a tool of white supremacy before the Civil War. During the 1860s, in a New York State election, people voted against black suffrage. White behavior will make you go, hmmmmmm WTF. How many free Africans lived in NY in 1860? Out of a NYC population of 7,000, 1,600 were of African descent and most of them were slaves. I guess the thinking was “Shit, let the 100 black folks vote and they will take over everything and fuck it up for us.” The 15th Amendment to the Constitution guaranteed Americans the right to vote in 1870. They signed it into law after the Civil War. It was up to Congress to enforce the law with legislation. How is that working out? Led by freed men and women ex-slaves aligned with white allies in the south, to sweep Republicans into power. Just think about that for a moment. The civil war ended 5 years earlier and ex-slaves were exercising their right to vote. Most were illiterate but understood the power of the vote after being “free” for only 5 years. Let no one try to diminish our understanding of the power of the vote! How did America react to our proving we understood more than we let on? Compromise legislation between the former Slave States and the federal government for votes freed up the South to terrorize free African Americans while they denied our right to vote. America turned its back and looked the other way. We passed the first Civil Rights Act in 1957, 87 years after the 15th Amendment authorizing prosecution for those who violated the right to vote for United States citizens. The assault on our right to vote continues and now it's approaching 150 years. Marinate on that. States like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina gerrymandered districts to restrict the voting impact of African Americans. They will do whatever it takes to keep people of color at arm’s length, including creating an illusion of voting fraud, gerrymandering districts, and whatever else it takes to make the voting process more restrictive. Nothing has changed for us when it comes to voting!
  21. Another day in America as our thoughts and prayers go out to those folks murdered in Maine. Maine residents don’t require carry permits. A referendum in 2016, which aimed to enforce background checks for non-hunters, was defeated. No worries, we will shift our attention to the Israelis and the Palestinians. The US is all lined up behind the Israel onslaught on civilians with weapons supplied by our military-industrial complex. Thousands on both sides killed. There will never be a winner. Wars are creating another generation of terrorists seeking revenge. I don’t pretend to know all the complexities of the situation, but I know the Palestinians live under circumstances strikingly similar to Apartheid and Segregation. Thoughts?
