  1. I am a 29-year veteran teacher in Texas. I retired last year. As an educator, I taught for 22 years at the elementary and middle school levels and was a paraprofessional for eight years. My heart is mathematics. When I noticed that my elementary and middle school students struggled with the foundational skills, I thought about how to make a difference. By the Grace of God, after retirement, I decided to write a foundational book starting with counting. My mother, "Ganey," always loved math. She taught her children and grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren didn't have a chance to receive the same love because my mother suffered a stroke that caused her aphasia. I thought this would be a great way to support children, especially Black Children, and keep the love my mother and I have for math alive.
  2. I realize many of our brothers and sisters are not concerned with segregation. Many are thinking of how to ensure we as a community do not become another Tulsa or Greenwood. How can we use our literary skills to protect our history, community, and churches against the evils that are transpiring against us? As the Black community, we need to stop trying to hurt each other. We must unite to defeat the enemy, which, unfortunately, can be us.
  3. I am sorry lol. My Doctoral chairperson.
  4. They are there but now many of them are beyond belief because Trump just decided to lift the segregation ban on federal contractors.
  5. This post was written a while ago, but it rings loudly today! I spoke to my chairperson, now 78, regarding this topic. She stated that her generation started all of this behavior because we had the money and a little power. I mean a little bit. Now, we are in a time where that little power is hard to observe if we, as parents, do not learn from the mistakes of our fathers. This is when we take all our control and teach our children and grandchildren about the importance of being proud of who they are and respecting others. Money and fame don't make you a better person. You gain different problems. Hopefully, we can learn from our mistakes and teach our children to be resourceful, to be at peace, and to fight for the right strategically. Especially today, when we are constantly threatened by the lack of quality education for our children. We must teach our children and not allow anyone to do it for us. We have the power. I enjoyed reading your post. Thank you.
  6. I am new to this platform. I read many of the posts and wanted to introduce my first book, the series Ganey Teaches. Ganey Teaches Counting by Dr. Lorna Randle Ganey and her great-granddaughters are at home studying. She notices the girls are writing numbers and counting them on the board. As a Christian educator, Ganey enjoys teaching her granddaughters to understand the world around them. She takes them to the zoo to enhance their learning, ensuring they practice counting and understand the concept of totals. Seeing my mother and nieces come to life in this book was fun. Genre: CHILDREN'S FICTION SubGenre: Concepts / Counting & Numbers Age Range (years):4 - 8 Language: English Series title: Ganey Teaches Series Number:1 Pages: 32 Paperback ISBN:9798350990133 https://store.bookbaby.com/book/ganey-teaches-counting
