The Importance of Codification

Recommended Posts

As the good Professor often points out, one of the biggest differences between AfroAmericans and White Americans is the fact that we don't have a habit of properly CODIFYING our intellectual and technological inventions.

White people LOVE to write things down.
The have a habit of document them, then pass along the information.
But a lot of our people don't want the bother.

Too many of our people look at recording and codifying our inventions and parts of our culture the same way some people look at slipping on a condom during the heat of sex.....taking time to do it breaks the momentum, lol.

But failing to codify our inventions lead to a number of problems like them being made or done the WRONG way since there is no established code to ensure they're being made or done the proper way;  and obviously it leaves your inventions open to being stolen and others taking the credit for them.

We've invented languages.....that were either stolen by White people or lost.
We've invented types of food....that were either stolen by White people or lost.
We've invented dances....that were either stolen by White people or lost.
We've invented machines....that were either stolen by White people or lost.
We've invented music....that was either stolen by White people or lost.
We've invented medicine.....that was either stolen by White people or lost.

.....not to mention them taking the credit FOR coming up with these inventions in the first place and then turning around with an evil grin on their faces and asking us:

"What have negroes EVER invented?
What have you people EVER contributed to science or even humanity?"

Maybe as AfroAmericans we need our own PATENTING institutions so we can protect our own property from being appropriated and outright stolen along with the credit for invented them.

@Pioneer1, you're right...AfroAmericans need to make a habit of codification, patent & trademark too.

The achilles heel is that AfroAmericans don't have a way of protecting their sh8t. White folks are willing to kill in order to steal especially if there's a fortune to be made.

If I could just get older AfroAmericans to write gotd8mn Will, that would be a step towards codification. 😁

Otherwise, when they die, the family falls apart fighting over sh8t they didn't work for and don't own.🤣😎

ProfD

That's true.
A lot of our people won't even write a WILL to ensure their property is properly and peacefully divided when they pass on.

Ofcourse a lot of our people don't HAVE property to pass on besides a lot of debt and funeral expenses....causing the family to get on facebook and start Go Fund Me's.
Reminds me of that song Papa Was A Rolling Stone and when he died all he left us was ALONE...lol.

But one of the problems with codifying and writing down things is a lot of our people are so spiteful and jealous of another Black person that they're afraid if they write down the recipe or instructions or technique....another Black person will out do THEM on their own invention.
To many of our people, this is more intolerable than a White person stealing it and taking credit for it.

They'd rather their invention just go to the grave with them or let a White man steal it.....than another Black person benefit from it.

You go down South and run into some of those old Aunties and Grandmas and they won't talk to eachother or share recipes with eachother.....but Rachel Ray or Martha Steward or Paula Dean can go down there and chit chat with them and get a BOOK FULL of old recipes from these old Black women and go back home and get rich off of the meals.
Ofcourse they won't call it "Soul Food" but "Southern Cookin' "........lol.

That unwillingness to share with and/or help each other along with the backstabbing and jealousy are byproducts of divide and conquer.

The fishscales of believing the white man's ice is colder have to be removed from the eyes of Black folks in order for them to *see* themselves as kings, queens, prince and princesses.

Otherwise, codification has to become a religious practice. Tall order.

Many Black folks sit up in churches every Sunday for decades and run around sinning from Sunday afternoon until the wee hours of the following Sunday. 🤣

Good habits have to become a lifestyle and way of life in order to stick and become effective. Codification requires it too. 😎
