ProfD Posted June 27, 2024 Report Posted June 27, 2024 There will be a presidential debate tomorrow night (June 27th) at 9 pm on CNN. The debate will be between POTUS Joe Biden and former POTUS Donald Trump. Unfortunately, no other POTUS candidates will be onstage including Cornel West and Robert Kennedy Jr. The debate could be similar to 2020 if the geriatric candidates take whatever medication enhances their cognitive abilities. POTUS PJB seems to forget and freeze. Former POTUS Orange Julius has memory lapses and supposedly has a body odor. It's unfortunate that voters have to hold their noses when voting for either of these Rock em Sock em robots in November. The good news is that neither one will be able to run for POTUS in 2028. Not because they're too old or worse. Term limit. 1
ProfD Posted June 28, 2024 Author Report Posted June 28, 2024 Yikes. The debate was not a good look especially for POTUS PJB. Voters will definitely have to hold noses in November.
Troy Posted June 28, 2024 Report Posted June 28, 2024 Yeah, I watched most of the debate. I did not find it very useful. Trump did not answer most of the questions posed and just said anything. He wanted to say whether it was true or not. I agree it was not a good luck for Biden. There was a couple times where he looked like he was ceasing up Mitch McConnell’s style. I think Trump came across better. if you ignored the flagrant lying, he clearly won the debate. I understand that this is the most expensive presidentially election ever held. That is a clear reflection of the problem with our system. I guess at the end of the day, all mighty nations decline and fall. 1
aka Contrarian Posted June 28, 2024 Report Posted June 28, 2024 @ProfD&Troy: Back in 2015, a shriveled up little female octogenarian recoiled in indignation after POTUS Barak Obama encouraged her to consider retiring from her position as Supreme Court justice during this opportune moment when the Dems were in the Senate majority. Unfortunately, an ego-driven Ruth Bader Ginsberg rejected Obama's idea and the stage was set for the reversal of the Progressive agenda put in place by the Liberal dominated Supreme court. Thanks to her refusal to move aside for a younger replacement to insure the Liberal majority, Ruth's death during Trump's term allowed him to replace her with a conservative lackey, and the rest is history... Now, once again the Dems are stuck with an 80-something prospect for dementia who refuses to step down, and the future looks grim inasmuch as a 78 years old narcissistic pathological liar and convicted felon is the alternative candidate. Too bad there's nobody to step up and rescue America from itself. Maybe an AI avatar should be nominated to run for office.

Too bad there's nobody to step up and rescue America from itself. Right. This is why we need age limits and term limits. There's no shortage of people in America who could step up and do a great job leading the country. The problem is that our political system is broken because it has been corrupted by big money. The BS rolls downhill from there.
Troy Posted June 28, 2024 Report Posted June 28, 2024 The sad thing is that virtually could step into Biden's shoes and win the presidential election running away, maybe not anyone from "The Squad." But you my point.

But you my point. Right. The Dems have a few folks they could nominate i.e. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (MI), Gov. Gavin Newsom (CA), Gov. Josh Shapiro (PA), The three (3) of them are in the 50s age range. Watching the debate last night, my 1st thought flashed back to when Larry Holmes beat up Muhammad Ali. Even Holmes could see that Ali wasn't all there. Larry Holmes even tried to get the ref to stop the fight in order to save Ali. I'm waiting to see how long the Dems will keep up this charade of having POTUS PJB run for re-election. They need to take grandpa by the arm and tell him to tap out. POTUS PJB doesn't look like he can do another 4 months; certainly not another 4 years. Before November, I think Dems will find a way to get PPJB to step down. 1
KENNETH Posted June 30, 2024 Report Posted June 30, 2024 If Biden steps down that's fine. But I don't believe in pressuring him because he's come this far and hasn't ruined the country. Last Thursday night was nothing new. Yes it was really bad. Biden is mentally and physically slow yet he hasn't hurt the country thus far. Meanwhile nobody is saying Donald Trump the convicted felon, Liar, unhinged, reckless, wannabe, dictator should leave the race. Even worse millions of Americans are ready to choose Trump over Biden.
Troy Posted July 1, 2024 Report Posted July 1, 2024 @KENNETH no one is asking Trump to step aside because he is likely to win. Not ruining the country is a pretty low bar even Trump has not “ruined” the country. …Well, one can argue the new conservative Supreme Court is in the process of ruining the country. I think Biden should be strongly encouraged to step down and the entire ticket along with kamala should be wiped clean and started anew. People will vote Trump in because they want change. The Democrats can give them that change with a fresh ticket. Again, we see what happened with RGB‘s refusal to step down from the Supreme Court. It is time for Biden to retire. He had a great run and little to be ashamed of.
ProfD Posted July 1, 2024 Author Report Posted July 1, 2024 For the 1st time in history, America has two unpopular choices running for POTUS. Surely, folks will vote for one of them but fewer people are enthusiastic about their choice.
aka Contrarian Posted July 1, 2024 Report Posted July 1, 2024 My suggestion is to just retain Biden as a figure head president. Kamala Harris is who should be convinced to step down as VP because she is not an asset. No one is impressed with her or enthusiastic about the idea of her being a heartbeat away from the presidency. Replace her with a strong, younger, capable male leader who will actually be a surrogate president and, along with a competent staff, will run the country from behind the scenes. (Kamala could be appointed to replace Attorney General Merrick Garland who has turned out to be a dud because he is not a team player! Desperate times call for desperate measures. Dems simply cannot continue down their do-nothing path leading to defeat at the hands of Trump and the Evangelicals who are salivating over a chance to turn this country into an autocratic theocracy. I am old and on my last legs, so the election outcome won't have any long term impact on me, but my last wish would be for America to defeat the Retrumpican menace to society and, like the proverbial Phoenix, rise from the ashes, a new nation promising liberty and justice for all!

Propping up a POTUS in mental and physical decline would be on par with 1) no reparations for Black folks, 2) never repearling anti-Black crime bills, 3) no Black Hate Crime legisation, 4) never codifying Roe v Wade and 5) surrendering the Supreme Court to conservatives to name a few. 8 hours ago, aka Contrarian said: ...leading to defeat at the hands of Trump and the Evangelicals who are salivating over a chance to turn this country into an autocratic theocracy. All things considered, it seems the Dems are fine with letting it happen. Of course, it's my belief that both political parties are two sides of the same coin in the grand scheme of things. 8 hours ago, aka Contrarian said: I am old and on my last legs, so the election outcome won't have any long term impact on me, but my last wish would be for America to defeat the Retrumpican menace to society and, like the proverbial Phoenix, rise from the ashes, a new nation promising liberty and justice for all! My dad passed away a little over a month ago. He liked to watch MSNBC. During one of our last conversations while he was in the hospital, he mentioned the country was going downhill. I told him no to worry because it would not make a difference especially for him. The outcome of the election won't have a long term on anyone as long as folks can anesthetize themselves with gross consumerism and materialsm.
Troy Posted July 3, 2024 Report Posted July 3, 2024 Sorry to read about the loss of your dad @ProfD. getting Kamala to step down is an interesting proposition @aka Contrarian. But you can’t overly. sell it as Biden just being a figurehead. Besides, the Democrats see Kamala as an asset. They believe she will bring in the black and female vote. But the real fight are in places like the state of Florida Pennsylvania, Ohio, etc. 1
ProfD Posted July 10, 2024 Author Report Posted July 10, 2024 https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/biden-tells-congressional-black-caucus-im-disappoint/story?id=111764987 POTUS PJB has picked up a vote of confidence from the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) . Let's see if CBC will be able to corral and rally younger folks to tow the party line. Also, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez aka AOC has talked to the POTUS. He's assured her that he's fine. So, as far as AOC is concerned...."this matter is closed". She's riding with POTUS in November.
ProfD Posted July 12, 2024 Author Report Posted July 12, 2024 POTUS PJB just had a 50-minute news conference. Other than saying VP Trump instead of VP Harris, POTUS handled himself very well. Even got a little feisty at times. He did a lot better than his debate performance.
