richardmurray Posted September 5, 2024 Report Posted September 5, 2024 It occurred to me that I have an idea of a black savior in literature, but I want to hear what others have to say, and keep my thoughts to myself for now. So what black saviors are in literature, made by blacks or non blacks? What say you? My Comment your funny in this one, his 4d chess playing mom:) question, what do you think of herbert use of the bene gesserit? It seems in the book, herbert for me suggest the bene are a form of the daughter s of the american revolution. The thing diolized isn t a mythic south but a mythic humanity, a mythic humanity in which one human can be essentially some sort of combination of jesus/buddha/anasi/quetzecoatl and leads all but even though they are extremely power the basis of their power is the system the bene gesserit setup. When is martin going to finish that book series? because in defense, where the books are, the end is unknown and the end matters? what do you think of the casting choice of corlys valyron? you answered in circa 30:00 and good point on 33:00 about similar peoples being used and abused but treated differently for their appearance 36:00 haha yeah the tully scene is a gem of many things, cersei actually had support for being a westerosi, regardless of blowing up churches, being incestual plus cruel... 41:00 good point 42:23 the side chick maniesto:) that is great 47:40 right but i wish you would had said what supremacy means. Supremacy doesn't mean equality, it doesn't mean civility, it doesn't mean integration. Supremacy means to be above, the violence is important. In the northman movie, the director showed the viking peoples as cruel, deceptive, of a vain ignorance, or an harshness or rough nature, unkept, unclean, but the violent nature of the vikings, which is how they spread to be kings of lands beyond the north in europe was untouched and that is the key to supremacy in general. It isn't gleaming armor, gleaming armor is a nice addition but isn't required, as long as you win the war, that is enough, you are surpreme 48:00 right , to win, to win doesn't matter what you do as long as you win. 50:15 hahaha your funny, i remember thinking of the same scene with the little girl when christopher walken kisses the ring, villaneuve to his credit who says he likes the lynch film, which really is paul as jesus and all is right in the world, didn't want to take away the seriousness of the scene and replaces the child idolizing her brother in lynch with chani's walk off in silence and replaces lynch's proud mary mother of jesus with the mother who was slapped with more wisdom by the queen of the bene. 50:00 good point on heart of darkness
