November 22, 20241 yr comment_69943 This really belongs in the Black Excellence section, but I know more people will see it here. I've queued this video to start with Walter Mosley's introduction of the Warrior Publisher, Paul Coates. Read the speech here. The video is more than 2 hours long. and includes performances by Jon Baptiste. Also, Percival Everett won the fiction award (I was hoping the police were not gonna bust in there and gun him down 😉) Report
November 23, 20241 yr comment_69961 Troy, man you all up IN the mix of every high-class Black event....lol. I would use the Puff Daddy analogy of being in every video; but I don't think that would be appropriate given his current situation. Perhaps Spike Lee would be a better analogy, lol. Back in the 90s, every good Black movie that came on the screen....Spike Lee or John Singleton seemed to have "something" to do with it. Report

November 23, 20241 yr Author comment_69968 The Miami book festival is taking place today and there will be all the the requisite parties and gathering. The winners of the National Book Awards will be in attendance too. I would like to be there, but alas I will not. Indeed, I have never attended, and I live driving distance away. Report
