The First Fruits Festival of Kwanzaa (A Zulu Celebration) by Steven C. Thedford describes the African American holiday of Kwanzaa, a first fruits festival inspired by the Zulu celebration Umkhosi Wokweshwama, also known as Umkhosi Woselwa. The story follows Shaka, a boy who wants to attend the Umkhosi Wokweshwama to sing the ngoma for his ancestors. However, he does not know whether he is strong enough to travel from America to South Africa because he suffers from sickle cell anemia. As Shaka navigates the festival and his ailment, readers will learn about the Zulu culture and experience the Umkohsi Wokweshwama. Title: The First Fruits Festival of Kwanzaa Author: Steven C. FYI: completing the "Submitting Your Book to be Listed on AALBC" form does not mean it will be included on the site.  If a book is reviewed, then the form may be used, but more likely we will pull the book's metadata from the publisher's website.

The form is primarily used by authors who already have an author profile and are informing us about a new book, authors who have just purchase an author profile, and publishers/authors who have purchased advertising on AALBC.
