ProfD Posted July 3 Report Posted July 3 https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/education/2025/07/02/lia-thomas-trump-deal-trans-swimmer-upenn/84443136007/ University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) stood to lose $175 million dollars in federal funding for allowing transgender athletes to participate in women's sports. Going a step further, UPenn is stripping the transgender athlete of titles won a few years ago. They are also apologizing to the women who were defeated. The only reason this is being done now is pressure from the current administration to restore the US to a two (2) gender order...male and female. This administration is busy on multiple fronts....immigration, tariffs, wars, shutting down gov't agencies, big beautiful bill, Alligator Alcatraz, etc. Money always talks. Nobody wants to lose that green currency including institutions, organizations, companies, businesses and people, etc. It's amusing to see and hear how folks are willing to sellout if/when the price is right.
Pioneer1 Posted July 19 Report Posted July 19 As quiet as it's kept..... In most of these institutions, much if not most of the faculty actually AGREE with Trump and the conservatives on many of these issues and are he's doing what he's doing. They're glad that it's being done so that THEY don't have to show their true colors and do it themselves. They're good at playing the blame game. For example...... Many Republicans run on a "America first -stay out of foreign affairs" platform locally. They'll criticize Democrats and "Washington" all day for involving themselves in foreign affairs and sending troops overseas to meddle in other people's business. But ALL parties support American hegemony. Republicans are more war like and globalist than most Liberals have dreamed of being. They support American troops being spread around the world to maintain control. How does one explain the disconnect and the anti-globalist rhetoric, then? That same Republican Congressman who DOES support globalism although his constituents don't will vote against a globalist police ONLY IF he knows there's enough votes in Congress to send it through and he knows Trump will sign it. However if his TRUE globalist desires are being threatened and it looks like there's not enough votes for him to sit it out or play his little game, he'll vote right along side of the other globalists.
