I argue the piece most have heard that many attribute to him , may not be his. I defend him in that, what people don't comprehend today is in Europe, Bach + Mozart+ many others were not beloved. Like Shakespeare in another art form, I find it very historically interesting that many of the white European artist that are deemed, essentials, ancient trancendents, where about to be forgotten hard when they died, and were forgotten. Artistic movements, many years after their death praised them in ways they would not imagine when they died.
