Pioneer1 Posted August 18 Report Posted August 18 Psyche! This thread is Rated: EB (for every body) If I want to address ProfD alone, I'll PM him.....lol. He MAY be best able to answer this question since he resides in the DMV area, but anybody is welcomed to chime in. With all of this talk about Trump sending in Federal officers and national guardsmen into D.C. and now I read where the state of West Virginia is deploying troops there as well. I'm curious as to WHERE all of this security will be concentrated. I don't know TOO much about D.C. but I've heard that the South East quadrant was the most dangerous and heard stories from people including relatives about Anacostia so since that was such an infamous area I decided to google "National Guard and Anacostia", but nothing came up. Based on your observations, do YOU see any extra police and troops patrolling the areas? What's the climate like out there right now? Me knowing how these people are and how they operate..... They probably send the authorities and extra security to the places where they are NOT needed like the wealthy elite districts, just to make THEM feel safe and secure. While the hood continues to see lawlessness and abandonment. I remember on a trip to New York years ago I was in a restaurant in Brooklyn and we heard so many gun shots go off people were sitting up describing what KIND of guns were being used and who was using them....lol. The next day we had to go to Manhattan for something and I remember going past some wealthy business area near Wall St. and saw all types of police and security with what looked like automatic weapons just standing around on the sidewalks staring at people looking like they had nothing to do BUT stand guard. I remember thinking to myself why aren't THEY in the neighborhoods dealing with the violence instead of just standing around guarding financial institutions???

The national guard is posted up in *safe* places i.e. tourist areas. They're definitely not in the places that would have been considered *rough* back in the day. In fact, DC has gone through enough gentrification that the worst areas aren't so bad anymore. Sure, sh8t pops off like any other city but it doesn't warrant the national guard. in the meantime, the national guard can keep patrolling the monument and Lincoln Memorial where nothing is happening.
Pioneer1 Posted August 19 Author Report Posted August 19 I figured as much. That's why it's called crime CONTROL. They don't want to END crime, just CONTROL it and keep it in certain neighborhoods. Yeah..... I heard the "chocolate city" isn't so chocolate anymore...lol. A lot of SWIRLING going on; changing the demographics.
