Understand video was shot from a Black perspective.

Otherwise, it highlights the reasons Americans of every race have become more over-weight in general.

Portion control and High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) and the lack of exercise are three (3) of the main culprits for people being obese.

Certain lifestyle choices and sedentary jobs and video games will definitely lead to weight gain.

It's funny that people will make excuses for not going to the gym or getting some routine form of exercise but they will make time to binge watch TV or videos on their phones.

Minimizing and/or eliminating physical education from schools is a huge mistake. Especially if the lunch period still exists.

Still comes down to personal responsibility. Parents have to make healthy choices.

Folks need to learn how to cook and shop for food that are not overly processed.

Here's a few grocery shopping tips:

1) Buy fresh fruits and vegetables

2) If food contains ingredients and chemicals that cannot be pronounced, it should not be consumed.

3) Outer perimeter of grocery stores contain the healthiest choices.

4) Stay away from those frozen food refrigerators.

Several decades ago, being over-weight was not cool or cute. Fat people especially young people were almost outcasts.

Nowadays, folks can be fat and fabulous. They have chunky models on the runway.

Fashion designers are pulling out more fabric and thread to make Big & Tall and Plus-sized clothes too.

It's all fun & games until the doctor starts prescribing medications for the conditions that come with poor eating habits and obesity.😎

Every race has experienced weight gain over the past few decades, however it appears that AfroAmericans and Latinos have experienced the most.

A lot of it has to do with the ingredients IN the foods but I believe a lot of it has to do with the foods themselves.

On top of the factors that you listed like not getting enough exercise.....our genetics is just different and this Western diet isn't good for most of us.

Most Black people are lactose intolerant and shouldn't be drinking milk no matter what being put in it.
Most Black people can't handle this large amount of bread and other starches and red meats that are part of a typical Western diet as well as most Whites.
The same can be said of Latinos.

Most Latinos are really Native Americans who practice a Spanish culture, but the Spaniards of Spain are predominately Caucasian and have different genetics.
So you see these Mexicans and other central Americans who are fat and roundish looking because many of them have mixed in their indigenous diets with the Spaniard diet with lots of cheese, milk, red meat, and liquor.

Just like welfare recipients, more white folks are obese than other groups of people.

Black folks created the Western diet.  We were just fine when raising, growing and cooking our own food.  Processed food is the main culprit.

Black folks and Latinos outside the US are still eating a ton of starch in the form of rice and potatoes.  They are consuming the other stuff as well.

The difference is foods are processed differently in other countries.  In the capitalistic USA, food is processed in such a way to 1) feed a lot of people and 2) make a  lot of money.😎

Just like welfare recipients, more white folks are obese than other groups of people.

There are more obese White folks because there are just more White folks in the nation in sheer numbers.
But the PERCENTAGE of them that are obese aren't the same as the percentages in the AfroAmerican and Latino communities.

However what's interesting is that I'm starting to see a reversal in obesity in the
AfroAmerican community lately.
For the past 10 years or so there seems to be more and more skinny and lanky
bruthaz bouncing up and down the street, lol.

Black folks created the Western diet. We were just fine when raising, growing and cooking our own food.

That diet high in starch and animal fat wasn't good for our people even then, but our people did more physical labor it balanced itself out.
Most of our people were burning a lot of calories and getting a lot of exercise laboring in the fields and later on in the factories and that kept the fat and cholesterol down.

Can't speak about the Latinos but as far as Africans go.....
Most of the rice they eat is whole grain rice so it's more
fibrous and healthy and most of the potatoes they eat are the yellow "sweet" potatoes and yams as well as cassava which is more healthy than those Irish potatoes niggaz love to mash together and make potato salad with.
