ProfD Posted Friday at 02:53 PM Report Posted Friday at 02:53 PM Creative use of AI technology that won't put anyone out of a job.
Pioneer1 Posted Saturday at 04:24 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 04:24 PM I'd like to see one of Malcolm X and Marcus Garvey both in their prime but presented as current.
ProfD Posted Saturday at 06:10 PM Report Posted Saturday at 06:10 PM No doubt AI will be used to resurrect the image/likeness of our Black icons. I believe Shahid Bolsen uses AI to copy the speech pattern & cadence & mannerisms of our late Brother Malcolm X: Folks will find creative ways to use technology. 1
Pioneer1 Posted Saturday at 07:13 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 07:13 PM ProfD Man, I've seen this dude on youtube a number of times but didn't really look into him much until YOU said something about it. When I first saw him, the first 30 seconds of seeing him reminded me of Malcolm X! It wasn't him holding his chin with his finger to his temple like Malcolm, which I guess he is trying to make HIS signature pose, but the way he had the cameras angled up at him and the way he's stare out of the side of his eyes through some old fashioned horn rimmed glasses. I thought it WAS some sort of AI of Malcolm being remade as an advanced older age version of him. When I realized it wasn't, I said, "This dude has been sitting up here watching Malcolm X videos and is trying to imitate him" I don't know whether to be outraged or impressed, because he's got the mannerisms down pat. Just when I begin to get angry, the question comes...where is the AfroAmerican version of a Malcolm X wanna be? Where are the BLACK MEN...even African....who are trying to dress and talk and act like Malcolm, like this dude? I can't get too angry at the White dude for doing it if we don't have any Black ones trying to fill the void.

There hasn't been a Black Malcolm X wannabe in decades. 3 hours ago, Pioneer1 said: I can't get too angry at the White dude for doing it if we don't have any Black ones trying to fill the void. It's not uncommon for people to copy those they admire on some level. Shahid Bolsen's message is his own but I did find it amusing that he chose to co-opt Malcolm X.
