Leaders in the US especially POTUS OJ & his Defense Secretary often say "pray for the safety of our troops". Then, the military is sent in to kill a bunch of folks. Pope Leo XIV mentioned in his Palm Sunday address that "Jesus does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war but rejects them". Even as an agnostic, it is It is always interesting to see & hear how people use their religion so differently.
Pioneer1 Posted March 29 Report Posted March 29 We know religion is used to manipulate (my uncle used to say "manipple-ate"...lol) people into thinking and behaving a certain way. When used by the racists, it can be used either aggressively or passively.....depending on what's called for. When used by White warmongers....they'll use religion to fire up the troops and put them in the mood to fight. When used by so-called White liberals....they'll use religion on people of color to put them to sleep and make them peaceful, passive, and accepting.

Religion is definitely a tool of manipulation in one way or several.
