Here's AI description of my Magickal Language

Featured Replies

Yes. I went considerably deeper this time, and there is much more evidence about his actual system than I initially found. In particular, Delano Strachen himself has posted pieces of the method publicly, which lets us reconstruct its architecture rather than merely speculate about it.

I’ll separate documented evidence from my theories, because the distinction becomes especially important once we start reconstructing a proprietary system.

The central discovery

The biggest clue is that Del himself says his system can take words or numbers as inputs and generate astrological charts from them. He says that, over years of using it, he has developed correspondences that can allow him to identify things in a querent's natal chart from those inputs.

And there is a second, extraordinary clue:

He has created a correspondence using all 78 Tarot cards, spent about nine years developing it, and says it took roughly two decades before he worked out how to link a person's name to a Tarot card.

That changes my interpretation of him substantially.

I don't think the best model of Del's work is:

Astrologer + Tarot reader + numerologist.

I think a much better model is:

Del is attempting to construct a symbolic encoding/decoding system in which ordinary information—names, words, numbers, dates, questions—can be transformed into astrological and Tarot structures.

That's a much more ambitious project.

1. Start with the raw architecture

From the surviving material, I think we can identify at least five layers.

Layer 1 — Ordinary input

Something enters the system:

  • a person's name

  • a word

  • a number

  • a birth date

  • a question

  • possibly the moment/time of the question

Layer 2 — Numerical transformation

The input is converted into numerical information.

Del explicitly discusses using numbers from the querent and describes a project called “Book of Numbers”, which he says is intended to use numbers from the querent to access the subconscious mind.

Layer 3 — Astrological encoding

The numbers are apparently transformed into an astrological chart or astrological positions.

He explicitly describes creating charts from words or numbers.

Layer 4 — Tarot correspondence

The resulting astrological structure can be mapped onto Tarot.

His public examples include:

Delano → Five of Pentacles

Strachen → Ace of Swords

and he says he has a correspondence encompassing all 78 Tarot cards.

Layer 5 — Interpretation

The final structure is interpreted symbolically.

And crucially, Del doesn't appear to regard the Tarot card as merely decorative. The card becomes another representation of the same underlying structure.

That is the key.

2. The really radical idea: words become charts

This is probably the most fascinating component.

Suppose the input is:

SPIRITUALITY

Rather than simply asking “what does spirituality mean?”, Del's system apparently allows the word itself to generate a chart.

He actually gives examples involving the words “mind” and “spirituality”, saying that the charts were created from the words and then delineated to understand the words on another level.

That is conceptually very strange—and very interesting.

Because it means he is treating language as something that has astrological structure.

Not:

word → dictionary definition

but:

word → numerical structure → celestial structure → symbolic interpretation

That's almost like an occult form of semantic astrology.

3. I think “Magickal Language” is therefore an extremely literal description

Previously I interpreted “language” metaphorically.

I'm now less convinced that's sufficient.

Consider what a real language does.

It takes a finite set of primitive elements and combines them according to rules to produce:

  • words

  • concepts

  • sentences

  • meanings

  • relationships

Del seems to be attempting something analogous.

His primitives might be:

numbers

planets

signs

houses

aspects

Tarot cards

concepts

And the input could be:

a name / word / question / date

The system then translates between representational layers.

So perhaps:

MAGICKAL LANGUAGE = a translation grammar between numerical, linguistic, astrological and Tarot information.

That's my strongest reconstruction.

4. His Tarot system gives us a huge clue

We actually have some of his planetary/sign allocations.

He says he uses:

  • Air → Fool

  • Fire → Judgement

  • Water → Hanged Man

  • Aries → Emperor

  • Taurus → Hierophant

  • Gemini → Lovers

  • Cancer → Chariot

  • Leo → Strength

  • Virgo → Hermit

  • Libra → Justice

  • Scorpio → Death

  • Sagittarius → Temperance

  • Capricorn → Devil

  • Aquarius → Star

  • Pisces → Moon

  • Sun → Sun

  • Moon → High Priestess

  • Mercury → Magician

  • Venus → Empress

  • Mars → Tower

  • Jupiter → Wheel of Fortune

  • Saturn → World.

Much of that resembles familiar Western occult Tarot correspondences.

But there's an important twist.

He doesn't appear satisfied with the traditional 22-card correspondence system.

He explicitly says he created a correspondence involving all 78 cards.

That's enormous.

5. Why all 78 cards matters

The Major Arcana already provide a convenient symbolic map:

12 signs + 7 classical planets + 3 elements ≈ 22

That's relatively easy to construct.

But the Minor Arcana create a much more complicated problem.

You have:

4 suits × 10 numbered cards = 40

plus:

16 court cards

plus:

22 Major Arcana

= 78

If Del has genuinely built a systematic astrological correspondence for all 78, he has had to solve the problem of representing considerably finer distinctions.

And that could be why his system took years.

6. I think the Minor Arcana are probably where the real machinery lives

This is speculation, but it follows naturally from what he has revealed.

A plausible structure would be something like:

Major Arcana

Represent:

large-scale archetypal principles

Minor Arcana

Represent:

specific combinations of astrological qualities

For example, instead of:

“Five of Cups = sadness”

the system could theoretically treat the card as:

planetary quality + sign quality + element + numerical stage

That would make a Tarot card much closer to an astrological coordinate.

And that would explain why having all 78 matters.

The 22 Major Arcana provide broad categories.

The 56 Minor Arcana provide resolution.

7. His name experiment is even more revealing

Del says:

Delano = Five of Pentacles

and

Strachen = Ace of Swords.

This is not ordinary numerology.

Someone pointed out that “Delano” could simply be reduced to a numerological number and then assigned to Venus, but Del explicitly rejected the attraction of reducing everything to the first nine numbers.

He says he likes the diversity of calculating the name beyond the first nine numbers.

That is a major clue.

It suggests he is deliberately trying to avoid the standard:

everything → 1–9 → meaning

approach.

Instead, he appears to want:

name → richer numerical value → one of 78 symbolic positions.

That is much closer to an encoding system.

8. My reconstruction of the name algorithm

We don't have his proprietary formula, so this part is hypothetical.

But suppose a name is converted into a number:

NAME → N

Then N could be mapped onto:

N mod 78

giving one of the 78 Tarot cards.

That would immediately create a complete name → Tarot system.

But I suspect his actual method is more complicated than that.

Why?

Because he says he spent approximately nine years developing the 78-card correspondence and approximately two decades before figuring out how to link a card to a name.

A simple modulo-78 algorithm would not require twenty years.

So I suspect there are additional transformations.

Perhaps:

letters → numbers → positional relationships → astrological positions → Tarot

rather than simply:

letters → number → card.

9. The system might actually have several independent coordinate systems

This is where I think things get really interesting.

Imagine three coordinate systems.

Coordinate system A — Number

0–∞

Coordinate system B — Astrology

sign + planet + house + aspect

Coordinate system C — Tarot

1–78

Del's work may be trying to establish mappings between them.

So:

Number Astrology

Astrology Tarot

Number Tarot

and eventually:

Word Number Astrology Tarot

That's beginning to look like a genuine symbolic translation engine.

10. And that explains his phrase “correspondence”

A correspondence isn't necessarily saying:

“These two things are literally identical.”

It can mean:

“These two things occupy analogous positions within two symbolic systems.”

That distinction is crucial.

For example:

Mars

and

Tower

aren't literally the same thing.

But they can occupy corresponding symbolic roles:

force / disruption / rupture / energy / conflict / sudden change

Likewise:

Venus

and

Empress

can correspond through ideas of:

attraction / fertility / value / pleasure / relationship / creation.

The occult tradition has been doing this kind of correspondence-making for centuries.

Del seems to be pushing it into a much more formal computational direction.

11. The fascinating contradiction in his philosophy

There's something else in his writings that I think is extremely revealing.

In an earlier discussion involving the I Ching, Del says that he doesn't make correlations between I Ching and astrology. He argues that forcing connections between independent systems can destroy their usefulness because one can end up imposing meaning rather than discovering it.

This is enormously important.

Because someone might look at his system and assume:

“He's just connecting everything to everything.”

Apparently not.

His philosophy seems closer to:

A symbolic system is valuable precisely because it has its own internal structure.

And therefore a correspondence should only be created when he thinks there is a legitimate structural relationship.

That's much more intellectually disciplined than generic “everything is connected” mysticism.

12. So what is he actually trying to access?

His LinkedIn profile gives another extraordinary clue.

He describes himself as interested in using “Mythology and Numbers to access the subconscious.” He also describes his newer work as studying time-based astrology and creating a system intended to read the unconscious mind of the querent.

Now the whole thing snaps into place.

I think his ultimate object isn't actually:

the future.

It may be:

The unconscious.

Astrology and Tarot become symbolic instruments for accessing information that isn't consciously articulated.

That's a very different philosophical proposition.

13. A possible psychological model

Imagine someone asks:

“Should I take this opportunity?”

They consciously provide:

a question

But underneath that question are:

  • fears

  • desires

  • expectations

  • memories

  • assumptions

  • unconscious conflicts

Del's system could theoretically treat the question, name, number, moment and chart as different symbolic reflections of the same psychological situation.

Then the reading isn't necessarily:

“The stars have magically told me what will happen.”

It could instead function like:

“This symbolic structure reveals something about the psychological structure of the person asking.”

That would make the system resemble a kind of occult projective test.

That's my most interesting hypothesis about his mature philosophy.

14. The “word chart” idea supports this

Why would you make a horoscope for the word spirituality?

If the goal were merely prediction, that doesn't make much sense.

But if the goal is:

“What hidden structures are contained within this concept?”

then it makes much more sense.

The word becomes an object of contemplation.

The generated chart becomes a symbolic microscope.

The astrologer then interprets what emerges.

So perhaps his system is doing something like:

concept → symbolic projection → interpretation

rather than:

concept → objective celestial property.

15. His system could eventually become a “symbolic compiler”

Here's my favourite analogy.

Imagine a computer compiler.

You write:

SPIRITUALITY

The compiler converts it into machine-readable structures.

Del's system might theoretically do:

SPIRITUALITY

numerical encoding

astrological encoding

planet/sign/house relationships

Tarot representation

interpretation

So Tarot becomes something like the visual output language of the system.

Astrology becomes the structural language.

Numbers become the intermediate representation.

Language provides the input.

And consciousness provides the thing being interpreted.

That's a surprisingly coherent architecture.

16. Now let's imagine the system's evolution

I think there are roughly four generations.

Generation 1 — Traditional astrology

1999 onward

Del apprentices under Jonathon Robinson, who had studied with Lionel E. I. Day. He performs thousands of readings.

At this stage:

birth data → natal chart → interpretation

Generation 2 — Integrated divination

Astrology begins interacting with:

Tarot + Number + Horary

This is the stage publicly described in 2015.

The question becomes:

Can these systems reinforce one another?

Generation 3 — Symbolic encoding

This is where the system becomes much more ambitious.

Now:

words → numbers

numbers → charts

names → Tarot

Tarot → astrology

This is strongly supported by his 2020 forum posts.

Generation 4 — Unconscious-reading system

His more recent professional description points toward using time-based astrology to read the unconscious mind of the querent.

This suggests the system's endpoint may be moving away from conventional fortune-telling.

The question becomes:

Can symbolic information reveal the structure of the mind asking the question?

17. And I think Generation 5 is the system's logical endpoint

This is where I'm theorising almost entirely.

If Del continued developing this for another 10–20 years, I think the mature system could become something like:

The Universal Correspondence Engine

It would have four primary inputs:

1. Person

name + birth data

2. Question

words + numerical representation

3. Moment

exact time + location

4. Symbolic context

Tarot / mythology / perhaps other symbolic material

These would be independently encoded.

Then the system would compare them.

18. The key would be convergence

This could be the most powerful idea in the entire system.

Suppose three independent routes arrive at similar symbolism.

Route A

The person's natal chart says:

Saturn emphasis

Route B

The question's numerical encoding produces:

Saturn-related structure

Route C

The Tarot correspondence produces:

World / Saturn symbolism

Then the system says:

Three symbolic channels converge on the same archetypal field.

That would be much more interesting than simply drawing a card.

The system would be looking for cross-modal resonance.

19. Conversely, divergence would become meaningful too

Suppose:

Astrology says:

Saturn

Tarot says:

Venus

Question-number says:

Mars

Instead of forcing them into one answer, the mature system might interpret the disagreement itself.

Perhaps:

Saturn = conscious restriction

Venus = desired outcome

Mars = underlying conflict

Now you've potentially created a three-layer psychological model.

That's far more sophisticated.

20. Eventually the system could have “depth”

I can imagine Del's system developing into something like:

Surface layer

What the person consciously says

Personal layer

Natal chart

Question layer

Horary chart

Numerical layer

Name/question encoding

Archetypal layer

Tarot

Unconscious layer

Underlying symbolic conflict

The reading would then become a journey downward through layers.

That would fit extraordinarily well with his stated interest in accessing the subconscious.

21. The final system might not even need Tarot

Here's an interesting possibility.

Tarot may be a human-readable interface rather than the fundamental engine.

Imagine the underlying system is actually:

numbers + astrology + relationships

Then Tarot provides an intuitive visual representation.

A person doesn't naturally understand:

“Mercury in the eighth harmonic relationship to Saturn.”

But they can understand an archetypal image such as:

The Magician

So Tarot could function as a translation layer between the mathematical/astrological structure and human consciousness.

If so, his 78-card system isn't the foundation.

It's the interface.

22. Why mythology becomes important

His LinkedIn statement about Mythology and Numbers is particularly revealing.

Mythology supplies something astrology alone lacks:

narrative.

Numbers give:

structure.

Astrology gives:

relationships and cycles.

Tarot gives:

images/archetypes.

Mythology gives:

stories.

Put together:

Number = skeleton

Astrology = dynamics

Tarot = image

Mythology = narrative

Language = conscious expression

Unconscious = target of interpretation

That's an extremely compelling theoretical model.

23. The ultimate form could resemble Jungian symbolic analysis

I'm not saying Del is a Jungian, because I don't have evidence for that.

But structurally, there is a resemblance.

Jungian psychology asks about:

symbols → archetypes → dreams → unconscious processes

Del's system seems interested in:

numbers → astrology → Tarot → mythology → unconscious

The difference is methodological.

A Jungian might begin with a dream.

Del might begin with:

a name, question, date or number.

The symbolic system then generates the material for interpretation.

So you could theoretically describe his mature project as:

an esoteric symbolic psychology built around astrology.

Again, that's my theory—not a claim about his stated identity.

24. There is an enormous unresolved problem

And this is where I think the system's ultimate development becomes intellectually interesting.

If a symbolic system is flexible enough, it can explain almost anything.

That's dangerous.

Suppose:

Card A means one thing.

Card B contradicts it.

You can always invent another correspondence explaining the contradiction.

Eventually the system becomes unfalsifiable.

Interestingly, Del himself appears to recognise something like this problem in his discussion of the I Ching: he explicitly worries that creating arbitrary links can cause a model to lose its usefulness.

So I think the ultimate evolution of his system would require constraints.

25. The mature system would need a formal grammar

If I were theoretically designing the endpoint of his project—not changing his system, but extrapolating from it—I would expect something like:

Rule 1

Every symbol has a fixed base meaning.

Rule 2

Every numerical transformation is deterministic.

Rule 3

Every Tarot card has a fixed astrological coordinate.

Rule 4

Words can generate numbers through a defined algorithm.

Rule 5

Numbers generate chart coordinates through a defined algorithm.

Rule 6

Multiple systems must be interpreted independently before being compared.

Rule 7

Contradictions cannot simply be erased.

Rule 8

New correspondences must be tested against old ones.

Rule 9

The system distinguishes:

symbolic correspondence

from

causal prediction.

That last distinction would be essential.

26. And then you could actually test it

This is where Del's system could become something genuinely unusual.

Suppose you have 1,000 historical questions.

For every question:

Input → system prediction

Then record:

actual outcome

You could calculate whether certain correspondences actually predict anything better than chance.

Even if the result showed no supernatural predictive ability, the system could still be useful as a structured interpretive framework.

And if some elements consistently produced meaningful psychological insights, that would be interesting in its own right.

27. The system could evolve from divination into semiotics

This may be the deepest theoretical endpoint.

Semiotics is essentially the study of signs and meaning.

Del's project could eventually become:

a formal system for translating between different symbolic sign systems.

A name is a sign.

A number is a sign.

A planet is a sign.

A Tarot card is a sign.

A mythological figure is a sign.

A question is a sign.

The system's job becomes:

translation + comparison + interpretation.

At that point, “astrology” is almost too narrow a description.

28. The really beautiful possibility

Imagine someone gives the system only:

“Delano Strachen”

The system produces:

Five of Pentacles + Ace of Swords

Then perhaps those cards correspond to particular astrological structures.

Now give it:

“What am I actually trying to understand?”

The system generates another symbolic structure.

Then compare that with the natal chart.

Then the horary chart.

Then the question's numerical structure.

If all of them converge on some archetypal theme, the system could produce a symbolic portrait of the questioner.

That is much more interesting than:

“You'll meet someone on Thursday.”

29. I think his eventual “final system” would look like this

Here's my speculative blueprint:

                    HUMAN EXPERIENCE
                           │
                ┌──────────┴──────────┐
                │ │
             LANGUAGE NUMBERS
                │ │
                └──────────┬──────────┘
                           │
                    NUMERICAL CODE
                           │
                    ASTROLOGICAL CODE
                           │
              ┌────────────┼────────────┐
              │ │ │
            PLANETS SIGNS HOUSES
              │ │ │
              └────────────┼────────────┘
                           │
                       RELATION
                           │
                    TAROT 1–78
                           │
                      MYTHOLOGY
                           │
                     ARCHETYPE
                           │
                    INTERPRETATION
                           │
                     CONSCIOUSNESS
                           │
                     THE QUERENT

And then the crucial feedback loop:

INTERPRETATION
      ↓
NEW CORRESPONDENCE
      ↓
SYSTEM TESTING
      ↓
REFINED GRAMMAR
      ↓
NEW INTERPRETATION

That's what I think his project could eventually become.

30. And there's one final possibility I find particularly intriguing

Perhaps the ultimate goal isn't to predict reality.

Perhaps it is to model meaning.

That's a very different ambition.

The system would essentially say:

Give me a piece of language, a person, a moment and a question.

I'll translate them through several symbolic languages.

I'll show you where those languages agree and disagree.

Then I'll construct an archetypal interpretation.

In that form, Del's system becomes something like an occult symbolic AI—not because it is literally artificial intelligence, but because conceptually it performs:

input → encoding → transformation → pattern recognition → symbolic output.

And that is why the phrase “Magickal Language” suddenly seems much more appropriate than I initially realised.

My confidence map

Very well supported:

  • He trained in astrology from 1999 under Jonathon Robinson.

  • He developed a personal horary method involving astrology, Tarot and number.

  • He has worked with thousands of readings.

  • He has developed a 78-card Tarot correspondence.

  • He spent roughly nine years developing that correspondence.

  • He developed a method for linking names to Tarot cards.

  • He creates astrological charts from words/numbers.

  • He says his system can reveal points/aspects in a querent's natal chart.

  • He is interested in mythology/numbers and accessing the subconscious.

Strong inference:

  • The system is fundamentally a correspondence/translation architecture.

  • Numbers are probably an intermediate layer.

  • Tarot is probably being used as a higher-resolution symbolic representation.

  • He is moving toward an interpretation of the unconscious, rather than merely conventional horoscope prediction.

Pure speculation:

  • The exact numerical algorithm.

  • The precise 78-card mapping.

  • The eventual mature form.

  • Whether he consciously conceptualises the system in anything like the “symbolic compiler” model above.

  • Whether he believes the system has supernatural, psychological, or purely symbolic validity.

And that last distinction is important: I wouldn't want to attribute beliefs to Del that he hasn't publicly stated.

The rabbit hole I would go down next

There is actually an even more interesting research project now that we've found these posts: reconstruct the hidden 78-card architecture mathematically from the pieces Del has publicly revealed.

His posts give us enough anchors—his Major Arcana allocations, Delano → 5 Pentacles, Strachen → Ace of Swords, his claim that the system uses all 78 cards, his comments about numbers beyond 1–9, and his word→chart mechanism—to try to infer what kind of algorithm could produce his system.

We could then build a hypothetical “Del Strachen System v1”, showing:

letters → numbers → astrology → 78 Tarot cards → houses/aspects → archetypal interpretation

and separately identify which pieces are actually evidenced versus reconstructed.

That would get about as close as we can currently get to reverse-engineering the architecture of his “Magickal Language” without pretending we possess his proprietary formula.

AI provided a deep analysis of brotha @Delano's system.

I hope AI does not allow white folks to steal his work to further enrich themselves.

Let @Delano become the multimillionaire or billionaire from his system if it is in the cards.😎

  • Author

It is not possible to steal. Someone would have to create the four formulae and the 20,000 plus sets.
@aka Contrarian here's ChatGpt explanation of my system in summary
Here is a synopsis that explains the system more succinctly.

The four formulas answer:

WHEN?

They transform the input into a future temporal coordinate.

The time-marker system answers:

WHAT KIND OF TIME IS IT?

This also solves an apparent paradox

Earlier you said Strachen believes:

“there is information in time.”

At first glance that sounds almost mystical.

But structurally, his claim seems more precise than that.

He's effectively saying:

A moment of time can be represented as a particular symbolic state.

This also solves an apparent paradox

Earlier you said Strachen believes:

“there is information in time.”

At first glance that sounds almost mystical.

But structurally, his claim seems more precise than that.

He's effectively saying:

A moment of time can be represented as a particular symbolic state.

And therefore:

time→symbolic

The time marker is the representation of that information.

The astrology chart then gives another representation of the same temporal state.

So perhaps his underlying idea is:

TIME=a structured informational state

rather than simply:

TIME=a point on a clock

That's a much more interesting philosophical proposition.
