Universal Basic Income And Capitalism

Featured Replies

Socialists, Communists, and other anti-Capitalists have for generations said that Capitalism is built on and operates off of cheap labor.

Establishing conditions in society where the masses are so in need and in many cases desperate for money that they are willing to work and produce for a wage.

This trade off....between production and wages...has been held at a delicate balance to ensure the economy keeps rolling.

That being the case.......
How would UBI and giving people money for NO LABOR work within a system like that?

Next to slavery, labor doesn't get any cheaper than AI & robots.

Labor has been outsourced for several decades now. Cheap products keep the economy rolling.

The people will continue spending money on consumables.

It's not like people are going to generate wealth whether investing &/or building a business with the UBI money. Theyll put it right back into the economy & further enrich wealthy folksj.😎

Next to slavery, labor doesn't get any cheaper than AI & robots.

I'm not experienced enough in IT to determine or estimate the value of them, but I would think that computers, AI, and robots would be VERY expensive to innovate and constantly maintain.

This is true.

And most of the PEOPLE (not the economy) of the United States have been living in a socially and financially depressed and distressed condition because of this for decades.

Millions are homeless, dead, or incarcerated because they don't have decent employment to maintain themselves.

The people will continue spending money on the consumables.

...those who are still alive and not incarcerated or disabled.

For decades now most Americans have been REPLACED by immigrants on every level at such a fast rate that you can barely tell that a shift has taken place.

For every one American who ends up crashing out...they bring in 2 immigrants to replace them and keep the ball rolling.

Ai & robots don't require health insurance, vacation time, sick days, etc. They can work around the clock. No overtime pay.

Americans have not demanded those jobs be brought back to the US.

The folks in favor of a lower population are ecstatic when millions of people fall off the grid for whatever reason.

A lotta immigrants provide cheap labor. They're willing to work for less than the average American.

Right. Several immigrants are willing to work for the salary of one American worker. Business owmers will take it every time. Getting more for less & maximizing profits.😎

Neither do these illegal immigrants they're trying to replace American workers with.

Americans have not demanded those jobs be brought back to the US.

True.

Many of them have complained about them leaving....but have essentially accepted that they are gone and have moved on.

Actually, many Americans have been indoctrinated into NOT wanting blue collar factory jobs.

They have been taught since childhood to seek higher education so that they could get a more glamorous corporate job where they can sit around on a computer all day.

Ofcourse most DON'T get these jobs....or can't keep them if they do.

So now they don't even have factory jobs to fall back on.

The folks in favor of a lower population are ecstatic when millions of people fall off the grid for whatever reason.

Correct.

Whatever it takes to lessen the load.

Right. Several immigrants are willing to work for the salary of one American worker. Business owmers will take it every time. Getting more for less & maximizing profits.

Universal Basic Income would throw a monkey-wrench in this.

Now people wouldn't have an incentive TO work if they can make the same amount of money doing nothing.
