Only three Black writers have won the Nobel Prize for Literature. Do you know them? (off the top of your head--without looking it up).

    Two out of three is not bad :-)

     

    I would have said James Baldwin, August Wilson and Toni Morrison, but I haven't looked it up and I don't know if I'm right on Toni, lol. Time to hit the google!

    Derek Walcott, Toni Morrison, and Wole Soyinka... And two (Morrison and Walcott) have appeared and been honored at the National Black Writers Conference at Medgar Evers College.

    Correct!

    Derek Walcott, Toni Morrison, and Wole Soyinka of St. Lucia, America, and Nigeria respectively were the only Black people to win a Nobel Prize for Literature. 

    I attended the conferences Clarence mentioned in which Morrison and Walcott were honored.
