"Booming" is hyperbolic, but there does indeed seem an increase in the number of stores.  The ABA's report of a 5% increase in sales feels about right.  In the Black community, which lags the white community in good times and is hit harder in bad, there is no cause for real celebration yet.  We (Black-owned indies) are still down a couple hundreds stores just in the time that I've been running AALBC.
