The United States of America's black history is being whitewashed in plain view.  There's no shortage of Americans who would love for the peculiar institution of slavery to be a distant memory despite its lingering effects. 

 

The USA wants to rewrite its history to erase and/or marginalize the millions of black folks who gave their lives to building this great nation and those who fought for the freedom of future generations of AfroAmericans to survive and thrive in it.

 

I fear that at some point in the future, the only black folks names to be found in a US History book will be Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King Jr. and Barack Obama. 

 

I think AfroAmericans had better start researching and embracing our history past, present and future.  Our history should be told in books, TV, film, music, fashion, etc.  It will be disasterous to allow others to tell our history. 😎
