Unfortunately, many black folks are afflicted with the disease of materialism. Gross consumerism is the opiate that boosts self-esteem and makes them feel better about themselves. 

 

OBJ is just one of many rich AfroAmericans giving the money back instead of investing it towards building generational wealth.

 

OTOH,  there wouldn’t be any poor or starving people in the world if human greed didn't have a stranglehold on it.
