Biography of Darnell Johnson
Darnell Johnson is a Miami native who discovered his passion for art while watching Saturday morning cartoons as a kid. Currently, he resides in Alpharetta, Georgia, with his beautiful wife and newborn son. He hopes the lines, colors, and shapes he makes spark the imagination of young readers.
The Electric Slide and Kai is (as of 2024) one of the few books he has illustrated. Though his roots are in illustration, Darnell has also lent his visual storytelling skills to storyboarding and directing in animation. He has worked on projects such as Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse and directed on the Iyanu animated series.
