Doye T. Agama
Biography
Historian, theologian, and ethnomusicologist Doye Teido Agama is a former journalist and filmmaker who survived the Nigerian Civil War, later returning to the UK to rebuild his career.
Agama has a long association with musical performance as a vocalist, guitarist, and flautist, and he previously presented jazz programming on the radio. His early career in media and the arts included:
- Working as a freelance documentary filmmaker for Visnews (now part of Reuters)
- Training as a theatre stage director under Professor Ola Rotimi
His professional experience is remarkably varied, spanning large-scale technical change projects in sectors such as maritime safety, search and rescue, energy services, and government infrastructure.
In his spiritual life, Agama is a retired
priest who studied Coptic and Greek Christian Orthodoxy. He founded and led the Apostolic Pastoral Congress, a convergent group of primarily Pentecostal church leaders, before returning to technical consulting in digital transformation.
