Amazon, Google, and Facebook provide many benefits to their users including; Amazon’s free, same-day delivery of a dizzying array of products and steep discounts on books; Google’s amazingly fast search results, free software including GPS navigation and video content; and Facebook’s News Feed and ability to connect us to family and friends promising to keep us better informed and deepen our relationships with each other.

Indeed, the success of these three companies is reflected in their staggering combined market capitalization of more than 1.5 trillion dollars and combined revenue of $68.49B in just the first three months of 2017 alone. They are true American success stories, benefiting Americans in innumerable ways—or are they?
