Cynthia Freeman Gibbs is a native of Lansing, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and her MBA from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL.

Cynthia spent twenty-two years in Corporate America working in various roles for Merck Pharmaceutical, a Fortune 500 company, before she began her writing career in 2016. Cynthia’s book, Reasonable Insanity – A Dr. Olivia C. Maxwell Novel, was published by Brown Girls Books in September 2018.

Cynthia was selected and invited to participate in two out of the seven regions for the 2019 Delta Authors On Tour which was developed by the National Arts and Letters Commission. She has been nominated for Best Local Author for The Best of San Antonio 2019 list.

Cynthia became a resident of San Antonio in 2002. In 2009, she married the love of her life, J. Maurice Gibbs and inherited three beautiful daughters and one granddaughter. She attends the Redland Oaks Campus of Resurrection Baptist Church where she serves as a Deacon Wife and is involved in a variety of ministries. She has been a Lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority for twenty- five years and is active in the San Antonio Alumnae Chapter.

Cynthia is a member of the Tobin Library Writers Group, and volunteers her time with the Heal the Healer San Antonio Symposium, NAACP, DreamWeek Summit, Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, and a host of organizations in the community. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and is a Foodie who is dibble dabbling with the Vegetarian/Pescatarian life.
