Biography

J.D. Myall is a publishing and library professional and an adjunct packet exchange professor in Drexel University’s MFA program. She is the host of Craft Chat Chronicles, a podcast where she explores writing and publishing with bestselling authors and industry insiders. Her work has appeared in Ms. Magazine, Writer’s Digest, and HuffPost.

Drawing from her experiences as an Army wife, domestic abuse survivor, and mother of four, including two children with autism, J.D. writes stories that explore resilience, legacy, identity, and love. She offers creative writing workshops and classes through her website and regularly mentors emerging writers.

Her debut novel, Heart’s Gambit (Wednesday Books, 2026), is a sweeping romantasy about two time-traveling Black families cursed to fight in a deadly magical duel every generation and the star-crossed lovers who might break the cycle or break each other.

When she is not spinning tales of magic, murder, and mayhem, J.D. is usually chasing after her kids, indulging in chocolate, or getting distracted by things that glitter.
