Jamillah Lamb and David Lamb
Jamillah Lamb and David Lamb are the creative and dynamic couple that founded Between The Lines Productions, Inc. to fulfill their co-mission: to spread inspiration, joy, and love through the power of theater and other media. They are also co-authors of the acclaimed book Perfect Combination: Seven Key Ingredients to Happily Living & Loving Together, in which they share secrets about how they have maintained happiness and close teamwork while working and living together 24/7 and the lessons they have learned that that they believe can be applied to every relationship.
Author, Playwright and Producer David Lamb was born in Queens, NY and raised in public housing in Astoria, Queens. David attended Hunter College, the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, and New York University School of Law. While working in the world of Wall Street, his passion for the struggles and stories of his Queens neighborhood continued to speak to him. And he wanted to tell stories that captured the social and political issues facing Blacks and Latinos in New York. So David, being an entrepreneur, founded a publishing company and in 1995 released the novel, Do Platanos Go Wit’ Collard Greens. David toured colleges speaking about the book and in response to that audience in 2003, David wrote the stage play Platanos Y Collard Greens.
“I want children to see this play performed in high schools and even younger than that. We have to reach our children earlier and have these conversations sooner. It’s important.”
