We meet every third weekend (Sat/Sun) of the month either at alternating member homes or restaurants (depending on the month event). We prefer books by and/or about African Americans. Our main store of purchase is Karibu Books. We not only read literature, but we attend plays, museums and movies and then have discussion and fellowship at various restaurants. Our main purpose is to come together collectively to discuss and share in knowledge of life's situations that affect our communities. We share our visions, opinions, views and critiques on a diverse selection of Art and Literature. Our goal is to host a yearly weekend retreat (where other book clubs, authors, interested parties can join in on sharing of knowledge). Giving back to our communities via educational supplies, holiday share programs or Kids Art and Literature (poems, song, words of encouragement) Day.
