Our premise is to develop and maintain healthy self-esteems, offer support, allot time for ourselves to network, to create a forum to exchange ideas, share life experiences and to have fun. We seek to achieve this by reading and discussing books authored by African-American writers, from all genres. We meet the last Saturday of every month with the exception of December. In addition to our book discussions, we attend African-American cultural events, i.e. the theater, art exhibitions, film festivals, spoken word venues, take black heritage tours and patron black-owned day spas and restaurants, to broaden our horizons.
