Our selections have run the gamut, fiction, non-fiction, historical, self-help, etc. We have hosted meetings with authors Vernice Berry and Anfra Boyd. We meet on the first Friday at 6:30 PM at a coffee shop owned by an African American sistah. Periodically we have meetings at members' homes. We are not just club members we have truly developed into sistahs. We attend other events together - brunch, plays, concerts, art gallery showings, and walk-a-thons. In 2000 we went to the Essence Festival, attended the African-American Book Club Summit, and had our annual retreat on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
