We are a group of strong Black African American women that get together every 6 weeks to discuss a book authored by an African American. The opportunity for us to gather, discuss, laugh, eat, drink and enjoy a wonderful experience among one another is something we all look forward to. We have a rotation, with the hostess choosing the book for us to read. Membership is by invitation only. The group will not exceed a membership of ten. We've attended plays, book signings and movies scripted from books. We've given a reception for Kimberla Lawson Roby and plan on more receptions, outings and travel in our future. A newsletter is published to the members 3 times between each meeting to recap the discussion, keep us abreast of visiting authors, member information, book reviews and anything pertinent to R.A.R.E.! We welcome any networking from other area book clubs.
