Mahogany Minds began as a sisterhood striving to be strong, spiritual, supportive and successful movers and shakers of our society. Three strong women (Kwanza Moses, La Torshia Diggles, and Corey DeDeaux) organized Mahogany Minds with a common goal... To expand the minds of African American men and women through reading, discussion, and sharing life experiences. During our existence, we have a membership of twenty sisters and brothers of all walks of life. Our activities include; attending monthly meetings, participating in various community and church activities, and celebrating our anniversaries and holiday party. In October of 1999 Mahogany Minds organized the 1st Annual Gathering of "Literary Minds" gala; held at the Four Seasons Hotel. This event included the coming together of various book clubs, authors, vendors and community activist. We extend an invitation for membership to everyone and we stress our philosophy of "Coming together is a Beginning...Staying together is Progress...Working together is Success"
