The Charles L. Blockson Literary Collective was dedicated to sponsoring programs and initiates designed to promote family literacy within communities of color. named after on of the foremost African-American bibliophiles in the nation, the Charles L. Blockson Literary Collective was founded in 2000 by three independent literary publications, African Voices, Anansi: Fiction of the African Diaspora, and Mosaic Magazine. The collective is based in New York City
