It's always easy to look from an outside perspective. Turn that around. The question becomes, if your employer decides to replace you with another person or AI or robot, would you be just as fine with it.

Cynthia Erivo: Disgracing The Black Woman
Pioneer1 replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
ProfD Millions more people still means men and women are carrying out their biological duties. Again, the question has to be WHO is having all of these children....or what portion of society shares the biggest responsibility for the population increase? Not sure about the DMV area but in Michigan and the other places I've lived like the South and West Coast, the immigrant population both legal and illegal has grown TREMENDOUSLY. And they tend to have FAR more children than the native population of this country regardless of race. Not sure if you believe the population growth rates between the immigrants and native citizens are on par, but that's certainly not what I've seen in my travels...lol. I don't think the native/foundational Americans of any race under 30 are having children like they were just a generation ago let alone several generations ago. Black folks spend and donate enough money on dumb sh8t that they can become venture capitalists I know you were just making a casual point but that term "venture capitalist" brings up many images and scenarios. I've heard so many struggling Black people claim they either are or want to be "venture capitalists" and although the term sounds cool, as I've gotten wiser and more observant I realize that it's probably just another one of those deceptive terms put out by the Racists to confuse people. What do I mean? I joke with Troy from time to time about White folks having some sort of "secret access" to money and wealth that other races don't and you only get access to it if you're labeled as "White" in this society. Kind of like what Neely Fuller Jr. teaches in a way...lol. Perhaps you'll make a "mistake" on some census form or registration form and get a package in the mail that was INTENDED for an actual White person....complete with thousands of dollars of disposable income, magazines for all the hidden grocery stores where the REAL food is kept...lol, and debit cards for money and credit to buy the things you want and need...lol. Anyway...... At the risk of sounding like @richardmurray....lol....I say all of that to say: We really don't know HOW White folks are really getting their wealth. They throw out terms like Venture Capitalist and Investor and you see the eyes of some Black men shining and they're rubbing their hands together eager to participate thinking THAT'S how you get wealth. Investing. Buying land or property and flipping it. Taking chances. That may be just some GAME being played by those with so much money they can afford to play with it and engage in such games. But their REAL millions and billions may actualy be GIVEN to them. Troy Yeah, but if you are asserting something that she says is untrue why don’t you just share the link or admit that you was telling stories or being hyperbolic? Assuming you don’t wanna say you were just lying. I'm not the one casting aspersions or even making strong assertions. She is. She's the one calling me a liar and strongly denying that she said this. I casually say it from time to time because she made mention of it years ago while talking to another poster. I'm not prone to hallucinations...lol...I know what I read. Nor do I have a reason to just lie out of the blue and keep repeating that lie over the years....I know what I read. The only hyperbole is my framing it as a sexual relationship but the part about a man who used take her out to buy groceries definitely part of what I remember reading from her...lol. Agreed birds have to fly… eventually and drug addicts need to be in rehab. Or behind bars if they are violent and pose a threat to the family until they are "cured" of their disease. I used to think it was a race/class issue that so many obviously sick and violent individuals with mental problems were not being institutionalized for the safety of family and society in general. Although I still think race and class places a huge role in this....the Nick Reiner case is one of many examples of how this dysfunctional mental health system seems to be affect all parts of strata of society. So many people are fucked up that they no longer want to house and feed them so they're letting them roam around in the streets UNTIL they either die or do something violent enough to warrant their incarceration. Prevention isn't even on the table anymore. -
ProfD When I said it was a "strategic" response, I didn't mean it in a negative way. When you said that, it opened up all kinds of questions as to what you meant and why you felt that way...lol. It made me wonder whether or not you agreed with the statement. If you didn't...why not? If you did....did you agree with it for the same reasons I did? Etc.... It was literally a THOUGHT PROVOKING response that opened up so many avenues. Troy I was about to surmise the same thing —a biological adaptation. Why would we find foreign accents sexy when it would seem more reasonable to find them odd or even repulsive? Also, I think most men are programmed to seek and help out women they find attractive. If you notice a woman has an accent you subconsciously presume she's not from THIS territory/land/country and if she's attractive you'll use that to your advantage to try to help her navigate through this society/territory/country and gain her trust, confidence, and attraction. It doesn't matter the fact that she may have been here 40 years or probably was even BORN here and probably picked up her accent from her immigrant parents...lol. We're just programmed to presume such. I always found foreign accents, including the southern ones attractive all things being equal if a sister had a southern accent I found them more appealing Same here. I think it's because we subconsciously associate the South with being a bit slower than the North or Westcoast which means we may expect her to be less hip and more submissive. We know that's not necessarily true, especially today; but when I was a kid was more true because the South WAS much slower than places like Chicago, Detroit, and definitely slower than New York...lol. But I've noticed that this seems to be the OPPOSITE effect when it comes to men with Southern dialects...lol. When I lived in the South, most women said they found men with Northern and New York dialects more attractive. Not only were they different but they conveyed a sense of "big city" coolness and hipness.

Less money in the pockets of actors? Well, considering what's been going on with Hollywood, especially lately; look at it this way....... Less money in the pockets of some actors might be a GOOD thing. It would also mean: -Less drug use -Less money in the pockets of drug dealer -Less suicides -Less overdoses -Less gambling -Less (fill in the blank with any other self destructive habit that often comes with more money)

Puleeze. Using dead people to play parts in his "movie" is no glowing testament to Pioneer's imagination. It does nothing but create a distraction, and the finished product is nothing more than the output of a mediocre mope suffering from delusions of grandeur. The same with using a string of different actresses to represent Dolemita, none of whom resemble "aka Contrarian", the person Pioneer is attempting to parody. The result is a shoddy mish-mash that suffers from an already muddy plot. Clearly this "movie" is not the output of a wanna-be genius. It is the puerile brainchild of a moron playing with toys. More ludicrous than witty. But,no accounting for taste, so knock yourself out, all you fans of cruddy comedy. And, btw, I feel qualified to give this review because if you've seen one episode of this shit show, you've seen them all. Phew. There were several reasons, Hollywood put the kabash on blaxpotation movies, one being the reaction from black civil rights organizations complaining how the content of these films reinforced negative stereotypes. So it's no wonder Pioneer is right at home on this movie set. It would be interesting to see what AI would come up with if it was just supplied with a verbal description of "Superfly".

Well, if they voted for POTUS OJ, they're getting exactly what they wanted when casting it. They weren't manipulated. In fact, there are poor people in red states who say they don't want ObamaCare. Nevermind the GOP doesn't have an alternative plan. Obviously, those people who voted for POTUS OJ are willing to leave the rock if life-saving meds are no longer affordable. -

That’s it? You mentioned that 20 million people might lose their health insurance even if a fraction of those people did how many of them are on life-saving’s meds and will die because they have not gotten the medication they need? -

These women losing the election had more to do with entrenched white patriarchy than anything else. Social media is just another distraction to keep people occupied. Just like religion. POTUS OJ is the personification of white nationalism. The MAGA base wanted him. Sure. The 95 unalived people in those fishing boats that were blown up. -

Hummm I wonder why you say that could it be… I wonder… SOCIAL MEDIA! See to say that Kamala was the wrong candidate implies that Trump was the right one. Which in a normal world would make absolutely no sense but that is what happened. We already know that is what happened when Hillary lost to Trump the first time. At that time, I was still on social media and I had decided not to vote then. @aka Contrarian talk some sense to me and I voted for Hillary. In my book, that was the last straw and I stopped using social media. I have been manipulated and did not realize it. It’s not just me relating a personal anecdote. this has been documented! Trump is a creation of the media primarily social media. If it wasn’t for social media Trump absolutely would not be the president of the United States. Has anyone been harmed? -
Exactly and that is what will happen — unless we do something about it which seems unlikely

ObamaCare aka Affordable Care Act Subsidies Expire Soon

I hope you're right. We'll find out soon enough. -
AI doesn't benefit the economy in terms of putting money into the pockets of real actors. Only the rich get richer.

Nope. Social media didn't manipulate people into costing Kamala Harris the election aneld helping POTUS OJ win. Kamala Harris was the *wrong* candidate. America isn't ready for a female POTUS. The MAGA base is huge. Independent voters rode with them. Again...nope. Poor people have been voting Republican long before social media. Ask poor white people if they're hurting under POTUS OJ. Wait for answer. Don't interrupt. -

While my policy quintupled in price I was able to find another policy that was actually less than what I was previously paying. Now I’m not sure it’s gonna be any good but I can use the doctors I’ve been using so we’ll see. I live in a red state, Florida. I can’t see 20 million people losing benefits at least from from my experience at healthcare.org -
AI are less expensive than real actors — much less.

Right. This is an example of how black folks need to change their thinking as it relates to jobs and work. It's about ownership. Men own the companies and machines that are doing the work from building electrical grids and infraction to extracting and processing rare earth minerals. -

Yeah, I think that notion is over the top given GQ far too much credit. If it wasn’t for pioneer I wouldn’t even seen the cover I doubt many other black women have seen it — at least those who I’m not on social media. wait just how old are you? You better not be younger than me — cause I’m not an old man If people spend an inordinate time on social media and they are manipulated into not voting for Kamala and others are manipulated into voting for Trump. Has any harm been done? If people are tricked and manipulated into voting against their self interest by those using social media for this purpose is that time on social media not hurting you? -
Not at all. For us heterosexual dudes, a woman's accent whether it's foreign or domestic is one of several traits we find attractive. Some dudes like those husky voice women who sound like they smoke Black & Milds. Other dudes might prefer to hear a light, sweet voice hunming like a bird in his ear. No doubt thhose foreign accents can be catchy too as long as the body matches up well.

Assuming you don’t wanna say you were just lying. Agreed birds have to fly… eventually and drug addicts need to be in rehab. Much of this work is mechanized. I’m not sure how many jobs is gonna produce. It’s not like the old days when guys donned hardhats and went into to tunnels with pickaxes -
As surmised, POTUS OJ didn't deliver anything new or revelatory in his speech. More of the same hot air. POTUS OJ did mention that our military service members will be receiving a warrior dividend, a special check in the amount of $1,776. The American people aren't getting a dime. They will have even less when that big beautiful (ugly) bill goes into effect next year.
