Somewhere in the galaxy multiple laser blast, torpedoes, or more weapons worthy of space's dangers are targeted to a pinkish figure. Many fragments of ships in the fleet of the National Space Exploration Administration (NSEA) crackle or spark around the Kuu ship, a massive lumpy unevenly shaped pinkish vessel spitting out laser blasts, absorbing anything in particular like stretched bubble gum twirled back into the mouth to be chewed. Demarco-Taggart jr. stand in this lethal blob somewhere, unrecognizable while surrounded in Kuu tech, appearing like a pink sand statue in a tide, an eye peering from his enraptured soul to the carnage he is guiding to his former fellow NSEA officers after being abducted.  

  

In a fragment of an NSEA ship, in a hall with flashing red light pulsing in eminent darkness, a Lieutenant run past crew folk, telling them to get to the escape pods. The Lieutenant gets to her room and the door opens and she cries out at the sight, pushed back by the heat; her son and husband are in hot metal rubble; she is able to reach her son and fortunately a crew man arrives; she tells them to get her son, Scorpius, to an escape pod. The crew man gives Scorpius to another and advises the Lieutenant to leave. The Lieutenant exclaims without question she can't leave with her husband, Clay, who is motionless under burning rubble. The Lieutenant burns her hands, repeatedly trying to get through rubble to Clay aided by the crew man while pleading for the crew man to help. The crew man uses a communicator and assesses Clay's spirit has flown. The Lieutenant is inconsolable, and the crew man grabs her and pulls her away to an escape pod. In a minute later, while embracing a deadly calm, the Lieutenant sits next to her sleeping son, watching the fragment of ship Clay's dead body lay in explode, like the last firecracker giving out hope.  

  

...Three years later, Scorpius is happily sculpting a fish, while a box shaped device with a button and red light is next to his work ,in the rec room of a ship, the ceiling of the rec room plays soundscape music while it appears like a morning sky on Earth. Scorpius's mother enters smiling, calmly walking to her son.  

"Hey Scorpius" 

"Hey Mom" 

They hug and she kisses his forehead.  

"Ready to go" 

"yeah" 

Scorpius taps a button on the little box, and a light goes from red to green, and the sculpture disintegrates on the table. The parent and child exit, with the Commander pressing a button revealing a window to space where the ceiling was, showing a part of a space station, like a giant red crystal floating in space. 

  

The space station was Man Klar designed, by the reflective skinned Fulesians, as a guard tower over Miensa. For hundreds of years the Fulesians occupied Miensa and used the, three skinned, Miensans , Miensa, or the Gateway, however they saw fit. This red quartz like space station became a constant reminder of the blood shed by Miensans until the NSEA Fulesian war; said war led to a peace deal where Fulesa left Miensa. Now months after, Man Klar is Farthest Frontier 3.1415, a space station controlled by Miensa which will be used to NSEA in process of Miensa becoming a member.  

  

But Miensa has no fleet or natural resources of galactic worth. A fiscally unimpressive planet with an ancient while non-utilitarian gateway, and an old space station going through an exodus. And in its promenade, Major Koshi, of Miensa security formerly of Miensa resistance, is trying to fix a fractured section of a wall. The frustration of trying to place many little pieces properly is overwhelming. A cat calling whistling sound is made on Koshi's chest communicator. She is notified that officers of NSEA have arrived. She leaves for the docks. At the docking bay, Tech Sergeant Bebre waddles into Farthest Frontier 3.1415 complaining of the docking bay clamps and the condition of the hull she saw from the outside, being held by Doctor Rama who signs the Sergeant how happy he is to be in this location, with its ancient history and the historic moment. Koshi greets them; eyes widened at the sight of Bebre. Koshi admits she never saw a Sleen before. Bebre informs Koshi this is her forty fifth pregnancy, being an officer in the NSEA can be quite eventful. Bebre signs the Doctor to go on to the infirmary with the Major; she has to look around in her big baby, and she has her communicator if need be.  

  

Koshi walks with Rama to the infirmary, and he ask her, does she have any idea what the gateway will be? Koshi reply, she doesn't know but the gateway has never brought anything good to her life. Koshi leaves Rama inspecting the medical ward, which has NSEA components lodged into the Fulesian structure.  

  

Commence Station Log. Farthest Frontier 3.1415, Commander Ethel Twta , Me and Scorpius have entered a new chapter in our lives. This station is at a pivotal moment, and I have little time to prepare or manage or guide, but if a team can be found among the NSEA and Miensa officers, the best chance possible for success will happen.  

  

Commander Ethel Twta enters Farthest Frontier 3.1415 smiling with her son, the duo hugging as they walk to their quarters. On the way she reminds him to have patience with this new home alongside himself. He admits he misses Miensa's calm country but confirms he will do as she guides. They enter their quarters and Ethel says gently, get yourself comfortable and we will have dinner together later, remember me and your father love you, are proud of you. Scorpius smiles and Commander Twta leaves.  

  

Commander Twta , heading to the operation deck, is assessing the station and its inhabitants firsthand, when Koshi exasperated greets her. "Hello Major" smiles Twta, but Koshi is wary and say, the gateway will take another shape soon and for the first time in hundreds of years Miensa could have benefited from it if possible, but the provisional government rejected that to hand it to NSEA. Twta reaffirms that NSEA is only interested in guiding Miensa. Before Koshi can reply, a cat calling whistling sound comes from Koshi's chest communicator. 

"What is it Eyea?" 

"Pro-blem-in-pro-me-nade" 

Koshi turn from Twta and say "we will talk again" 

Koshi goes to the promenade and Twta follows.  

  

In the promenade three figures are held still by Energy beams emitted from, Security Chief Eyea, a Dedom2, an ancient race of sentient electronic drones. Of the held, one is a child, the other two are adults. Koshi arrive and speak straight to the Ataut child, his completely red eyes untelling.  

"What are you doing Pee?" 

the child replies: "just a small training exercise Major" 

Eyea interject: "found-caught-re-veal" 

Eyea use a beam and reveal an empty space where a wall appeared to be. Pea shrink and Koshi smile: "Well well, little fight clubber, Eyea take them to the brig" 

"Woo wowowo woo wait a minute": loudly proclaim an Ataut adult,: "my family 's fight here is done"  

Twta loo on as Koshi reply: "No Been, your cousin broke the law, you know the Miensa government doesn't allow fight rings"  

Been look about and notice Twta and say: "But I believe this station is a cooperative between NSEA and Miensa , and we all know NSEA loves being cooperative" 

Twta tells Eyea to continue their operation, and Eyea escorts Pea to the brig. Twta's chest communicator says in a male sexy voice: "How! Does! It! Feel!"  

Twta gets a message from an officer. The NTE-3120 has arrived. Twta gives confirmation and tells Koshi: "We must prepare the station for the celebrations of the gateway. I will be back shortly" 

  

In the meeting room of the NTE-3120 Commander Peter Demarco-Taggart jr. sits calmly as Commander Ethel Twta enter, her anger evident on first glance by Taggart jr. But Taggart jr. offer a handshake, happily saying Commander, and Twta slowly accept saying Commander with a bitterness. Taggart Jr. is confused. "Have we met?" Twta reply: "only in battle" Taggart jr. comprehend instantly. A silence exist in the room. Taggart jr. look away, offer no words. After a time, as Twta stand patient, Taggart jr. say: "I came to offer assistance" Twta reply: "No thank you, we will do fine on our own, and if I am not up to the task I will resign"  

Taggart jr. gesture to say something but dismisses it. Twta ask: "is that all Commander" Taggart jr. shake his head and Twta say: "I will never give up... never surrender" and exit the rec room of the NTE-3120. 

  

In the office of Eyea, Been is waiting for Twta while Eyea handle information managing its own floppy disk drives. Twta enter the office and Been eagerly approach stating: "His uncle's son will be out of the station's hair as soon as they leave and they are already packed" 

Twta replies, "I want to discuss your future plans" and continues "If everyone leaves the station, it will become a dead zone which will hurt Miensa. I need you Been, to stay" Been reply :"The Fulesians allowed the fighting pits which fit me and my cousins way of life, while the Fulesians achieved profit from the gamblers who came from every sector of the quadrant... but without the pits how do me and my cousin live as Atauts? Without the fighting pits, where is the money? " 

Twta reply: "The Miensa government opposes fighting pits but if I can get a tax on the activity, with the promise, the guarantee of no deaths, will you take on the fight and stay?" 

Been reply: "If I say no, will my cousin be free"  

Twta reply: "Ask Eyea, he has the jurisdiction" 

Eyea rotate a cylindrical section like a negative shake of the head. Twta begin to exit and say:"It is your choice Been, if you choose to accept, the festival for the gateway is needed and I want this station to have a festival. you can organize it, and your cousin can help... if you accept".  

Twta exit and enter her and Scorpius's quarters, where she finds her son laying on a couch and she sighs.  

  

In the NTE-3120 , sixty-five-year-old Lieutenant Laredo is in the digital conveyor room side his wife Alinta, their bags prepared. Commander Taggart jr., Lieutenant Laliari, Dr. Lazarus, Tech Sergeant Chen with his cane, Security Chief Ingersol in his exoskeleton look on lovingly. Laredo speak: "I started in this ship as a pilot, became a science officer under the best teacher, met my wife, raised two children and became a grandfather multiple times. It has been an honor" 

Taggart jr.:"thanks teach" 

Chen side Laliari present Laredo side Alinta a cake. Ingersol smile and point a finger: "ready when you are"  

Dr. Lazarus is saddened"... By Grabthar's Hammer, by the Suns or Warven, you shall be blessed"  

Laredo and Lazarus give the Mak'Tar salute. Alinta say: ".. don't worry, we will take care of each other" and she smiles. Laredo finalize: "good luck on your mission guys, too bad you can't stay for the gateway opening" 

  

In a dock of Farthest Frontier 3.1415 Alinta tell Laredo: "I will go to our room, and prepare, you know Ananda's kids will be here soon. But you need to get acquainted with this crew" 

"Thank you wife": and Laredo kiss Alinta 

"Thank you husband" 

  

Lieutenant Laredo sees the festival on the promenade. Mostly Miensans but other life forms as well are celebrating the return of the Gateway. Laredo see Commander Twta, Scorpius, Major Koshi, Eyea, Bebre, Rama, aside Miensa clerics on the observation deck while Been has customers in his fight pit and his cousin Pea is calling out the activities of the festival. Laredo taps Twta on the back and Twta smiles: "hey teach" 

Scorpius hugs Laredo. Twta says: "everyone meet Lieutenant Laredo, my teacher in the academy when he took a hiatus from galivanting about the stars." 

Everyone greets each other. Koshia says: "You got Been to stay" 

Twta reply: "I am here to help, and I will prove it to you one day with actions" 

Koshi smile. Bebre say: "This will definitely help the baby and the babies to come"  

Rama ponder: "What will the Gateway look like this time... a little research and it seems to change and where it will go is really in the air" 

A female Miensa cleric look to Twta and speak "with the Chosen here, the Gateway will do as destiny wrote and heal Miensa an beyond" 

  

Suddenly, brightness as if from a star appear. The light grows and grows until it forces all to squint, and then the light ebbs to reveal a door. The people int eh promenade cheer. Bebre say: "the composition is not indicative of any known prior form of the Gateway"  

Laredo say:"the ship's telemetry says it goes to the Nu Quadrant" 

Koshi is in shock. Rama is excited. Eyea say "Nu"  

The female Miensa cleric look to Twta:"You are the Chosen"

Kuu- an alien race that absorbs other species or objects, adds to unevenly shaped lumpy vessel like bubble gum 

Taggart jr.- Peter Demarco-Taggart jr., looks like a baby from Commander Taggart and Lieutenant Demarco

Man Klar- Fulesian name of Farthest Frontier 3.1415 

Fulesian- reflective skinned species, glass skinned, a silver shine [Fule is glass in Oromo] 

Fulesa - planet of Fulesians 

Miensa- planet of the Miensans. [Mmiensa is three in Twi]  

Miensans- Three skinned people, two straight lines, one from the top of the head to the anus and another from the left side of the eye to the top of the head and bottom of the head and from left side of the neck down to the feet. From right to left of a viewer, the right side has skin variant as humans as the major half; center to near left side has ridges like tracks of a truck in the center colored like the right side, and then a copper skin to the far left side.  

Major Koshi Yuzi- Miensa resistance fighter 

Tech Sergeant Ohoah Bebre - a sleen [ Sleen are a humanoid species that perform parthenogenesis based on experiences, who also regenerate when they give birth, so having eventful lives is part of their way of life] [ Bebre means many in Twi] 

Doctor Rama- happy young doctor, mute, uses sign language 

Commander Ethel Twta- Commander of Farthest Frontier 3.1415 , mother of Scorpius. She wears an NSEA uniform but wears a short wrap skirt around her waist.  

Security Chief Eyea- a Dedom2, electronic sentient drone like beings who are technologically old fashioned 

Pea- an Ataut. 

Ataut-  a species whose culture is all around learning/profiting from dueling with fists or weapons. ; their eyes are monochrome red, with fiery blond hair, and are naturally short.  

Been- Cousin of Pea. 

Lieutenant Laredo - science officer, former pilot of the NTE-3120, sixty five, grandfather, married to Alinta. Was a teacher to Twta . 

Alinta- wife to Laredo, descended from Australian Aborigines, her name means fire in Ngarrindjeri
