[DEVIATION] I. Ripples on the Pool The cauldron glowed, full to the brim with swirling liquids which would reveal many things. The room that held it was dark, the changing colours of the ripples on the boiling mass were the only light. The surface was white, but rings or blue and red undulated fitfully out from the center. Two figures stood over the changing concoction and watched, waiting to see what fate would reveal. Bodies were swallowed in shadow and the faces changed hue with the constant shifting of the glowing liquid. “When,” asked the voice of the first man, a voice defined by a controlled strength, “when will it reveal all?” “Shortly,” replied the voice of the second man, a voice revealing the traits of airy wisdom and light conjecture, “but you must prepare yourself to receive it.
