Another Reason I'm Not Religious

During a discussion in another thread as to why I'm no longer religious, I divulged ANOTHER reason why I'm no longer religious anymore.

Because I'm not as LAZY as I used to be.

Back when I was very religious, I was very lazy.

I didn't want to get up off my ass and do things for myself and put in the hard work and research that needed to be done to get the type of Success I wanted, so I reasoned out that the world would soon end and "so-n-so" would come down to Earth and make everything alright, so I didn't have to worry about that.

Think of Al Green's   Everything Is Gonna Be Alright  (he's coming back.....like he said he would)

My only plan was to find a quick job that paid me enough to do what I IMMEDIATELY wanted to do for fun, and wait.......
So I did.
And I waited.....
And waited.....
And waited....

While waiting, I discovered a few things.

One of the things I discover was that the more work I put it, and especially if I did my do diligent research BEHIND the work I was doing so that whatever I did was more effective...the more Success I had!

Whether it was putting in work to make money or putting in work to attract women or putting in work to organize people.
The more I was willing to work...not just hard...but smartly....the more things came out right.

 

I didn't really recognize this until I was in my 30s.
Now I'm in my 50s, trying to play "catch up" and as quiet as it's kept....I'm still "waiting" on SOME THING major to happen so that I don't have to work as hard.
But I'm learning my lessons...lol.
Better late than never.

 

Too many of our people use RELIGION as an excuse to cover up our laziness.

They don't want to get up and do the work necessary to provide a secure and prosperous future for themselves and their children but they don't want to admit this so they hide behind religion and the belief that somebody is going to come back and make the world a better place soon...so they don't have to.

But when the bills come or they need some immediate money, they don't sit on a milk crate waiting on "so-n-so" to give it to them.
They get up and work, steal, beg, or do whatever they HAVE to do to come up with the money.
Which shows you that they don't have as much faith in whatever or whoever they claim, because they don't wait for the money to magically show up.
They WORK (in some form or another) for it until they get it.
They MAKE it happen.
It's not about religion then....it's about MAKING it happen.

But as soon as they get out of the pinch, many of our people go right back to the lazy-mode of using religion and waiting on "so-n-so" to make it right.

Absolutely. I believe James 2:14-26 addresses it mostly commonly by "faith without works is dead”.

True.
It's much easier to instill a proper work ethic in childhood but much harder in adults.

Based on my experience and observation, it's not even about really working hard so much as it's about being on time and doing what you're told to do WHEN you're told to do it.
This is one of the reasons older and even elderly people often make better employees than young people.
They may not have the endurance and energy but they are far more reliable and know how to follow directions.

Another thing that makes most people lazy is lack of PROPER MOTIVATION.
I mentioned to you before that the laziest man in the world will often work hard and do his best to show out for a female he finds attractive.
He's motivated by something...lol.


 

Religion can leave folks on stuck and lazy.
 

It teaches you to look for Someone or Something outside of yourself for success and getting what you desire.
Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you need BALANCE.

I pray not just every day, but several times a day and I take action and I pray that my actions will be Successful.

I see no contradiction.

Motivation is the #1 reason most people work. They need or want something.

Unfortunately, too many people are willing to support lazy folks.

 

Parents will make excuses for housing grown azz adults and grand-children.

 

Men will sponsor women who trick and/or have a bunch of kids.

 

Women will take care of broke azz dudes providing them with s8x, shelter, transportation, food, clothes, booze, weed, etc.

 

These lazy people don't have to be motivated to take care of themselves because someone else is willing to enable them. 

 

Religion isn't a bad thing if/when used in place of drugs and alcohol.

 

The problem with religion as an opiate is that it can lead to a certain amount of mental and physical indolence.

Speaking of motivation, I have an interesting story to tell.......

I usually keep a vehicle but a while back I went for quite a spell of not having a car.
I had a truck but sold it and said I was going to work and save money to get another one in a couple months.   But I saved so much money catching the bus and getting rides from other people that month after month went by and eventually a year went by and I still hadn't bought a ride and I kept reasoning that the longer I waited the nicer the ride will be because I'll have more money saved up to get it.

Then....MOTIVATION struck...lol.
 

What motivation?

Seeing this beautiful dark skinned Lauryn Hill  looking sista at work that I had been chasing after for months hugged up and in the arms of another dude!

I saw it as clear as day.
They both had their coats on ready to go and he had some keys in his hand!
She was looking up at him smiling at him with such a big broad grin with her white teeth shining between some thick juicy dark lips.
Just staring straight up at him grinning.

I saw them!
I walked pass them......twice.
All hugged up.

 

Now check this shit out.
This is how strange this thing was..........

I said I was going to wait another year and stack up more bread to get me a NICE ride.
That was the plan.

But when I saw the woman I wanted locked into an embrace with this dude, it did something to me  and I said to my self that if I had a car...she'd be embracing ME instead of him!

I got angry.
Not at them....not really at myself.
Just angry.

That was on a Friday.

Man I went home angry and said, FUCK IT....and the next day....Saturday....I went out car shopping.
By the end of the week I had another car...lol.
 

Ok...

Now this gets more interesting........

You know, I didn't see her or him embrace ANYMORE since then!
Infact, I barely even saw them even TALK to eachother before or after that one time I saw that!

 

Hmmmm.....

Ok????

Are yall trying to keep the relationship clandestine for work, or something?

Anyway, I eventually started taking HER home in my car and although we didn't get into an actual relationship because she already had a man she loved...we DID get intimate.  
She became a nice little "work wife" I could smooch and squeeze on and have fun with at work.
Which is what I wanted anyway!
 

But this is the thing.....

One day a month or 2 later,  I asked dude she was hugged up with what happened?

He looked at me puzzled.

I played it off like I didn't mind and reminded him of "that one female" he was all hugged up with that day and he claimed he didn't know WHAT I was talking about!

Who?

Which female?

I looked at him...and he wasn't playing!
He seriously didn't know what I was talking about!
 

But he kept saying "who" and "which one",
So I said, "Never mind man.  Forget about it."...lol.
Sheeeeeyit....I didn't want to give him any ideas to "rekindle" something he may have forgotten.

 If it ever took place to begin with.
 

Was I trippin' ?
 

Did I really see what I THOUGHT I saw?

Or was that some sort of vision to MOTIVATE me to get a car to get what I wanted????

I'll let you and the other readers think about that one.

The vision could have happened as you saw it. Maybe not quite what you thought. They could have just been friendly.

 

Bottom line is the vision was your motivation. The universe sent a sign that it was time to cop that ride. 

 

It has been said that the main reason most men shave and shower is to attract women. Otherwise, we'd still look like cavemen.

 

Plenty heterosexual men are motivated to amass power, make money, look good and be *accomplished* and/or *successful* on some level is to increase their access to women.

I also considered that it was just a friendly hug as well.
But in the "vision" I saw....

The way THEY were hugged up with their arms around eachother was NOT the way most male/female work acquaintances hug.
They were smooched up like lovers!

And she was looking up at him gazing into his eyes with a wide shiny grin on her mouth, lol.

I'm telling you I saw it.

I walked pass them like I was doing something else and got a good look.
Turned around and walked pass them again to get another look.

They kept that embrace for a good 1 and a half to 2 minutes.

But the strange thing was, they weren't saying anything to eachother!
Just standing there holding eachother.

And a few minutes after I took my attention off of them to take care of my personal business I looked up and he had left and she was walking behind him, and waved at me with a smile as she passed!

 Hmmm????
 

 

And I'm telling you.....
Just like they barely spoke to eachother before.
Infact, I don't remember her saying ANYTHING to him before...although I do remember him constantly staring at her (he does that with many women) when he walked by her desk from time to time.
....but they didn't touch eachother or say so much as 2 words to eachother in any given setting anymore AFTER I saw that and all 3 of us were working at that place months and months longer!
Unless they were keeping it clandestine.
But I really looked at them when they were around eachother and they didn't even make eye contact or smile when passing by.
He'd stare at her like he'd do other women but she pretty much kept up the same "just any co-worker" demeanor with him.
In other words.....
No covert "let's pretend we aren't lovers" behavior was detected.....lol.

I'm not sure what else to make of the event.

 

Bottom line is the vision was your motivation. The universe sent a sign that it was time to cop that ride. 

 

That's why I told that story.
Because that is my belief.

But I also wonder how many other "visions" I may have saw that other people didn't experience that probably were designed to motivate me to do something.

 

I don't do drugs and I don't hallucinate.
So I pretty much presume that everything I see is Reality.
But things like that make me wonder sometimes.

The alphabet soup community seems to have it much easier when it comes to hooking up.

 

They don't need power or money or dates. Just a mutual attraction and opportunity to get down.

 

They can go from digging each other to s8xual relations in the amount of time it takes to find a spot.

 

As heterosexual folks, we have to spend some amount of time getting to know each other before the good part comes up.

 

Of course, there are times when it's on and popping sooner than later for little or nothing. Depending on situation and circumstances.

Despite chasing her for months, I didn't have much success with her until I DID get a ride, lol.

Over the years I've seen many other even stranger things than THAT happen that made me question the stability of this Reality.

Like that old saying, don't believe even HALF of what you see.

Ask them. Wait for the answer. Don't interrupt.

Gay dudes seem to hook up with eachother based on eye contact ALONE.
They don't need money, smooth lines, or play games with eachother.
It seems like they just go around staring at other dudes until they find another gay one and next thing you know they're walking around together smiling...lol.

I often wonder what would happen if women were as easily attracted as gay men seem to be at other men.
 

At work right now, there's a gay dude who likes to stand there and talk to me about political matters until I have to literally RUN him away,  because I dropped some knowledge on him months ago and obviously he likes being around me.
 

An otherwise intelligent young brutha, but sweet as molasses...lol.
 

Him and 2 of his fine ass female friends...all young people...were at lunch one day and I dropped some knowledge on ALL THREE of them, but guess who was the only one who found what I had to say "interesting" enough to keep coming back to me asking me shit months later.

The funniest part is that women will wish the dude wasn't Aunt Jemima. They'll try give him that snatch box with no strings attached.

 

The downside is many women ended up with that *package* as a result of dealing with dudes who were switch hitters.

 

If a woman tells me she was ever involved with a dude who was locked up for a long time, my eyebrow goes up.  That conversation won't go a significant distance.

Praying on a daily basis. regarding the bible as the word of God, acceptong that Jesus is the son of God makes you a Christian, whether you fellowship with other Christisns by attending a church or not. Christianity is a religion. 

 

Recent studies have determined that what has been attributed to laziness and lack of motivation are symptoms of ADHD a  mental condition that not only afflicts children but also millions of adults who have been undiagnosed with this disorder.  

  Human beings are complicated entities who describe themselves in ways that are often at odds with society's categories. That's  how the LBGTQ community came into existence. 

 

I, myself, feel like I am not coordinated with my chronological age.  

Such is life.

My cataract surgery went OK. My long distance vision is much improved. Still can't read small print and may have to be prescribed tinted reading glasses.

There is no such thing as a private conversation on a public forum.
