Pioneer1 Posted Sunday at 11:46 PM Report Posted Sunday at 11:46 PM I knew she was smart and articulate or she wouldn't have gotten elected to Congress, but I didn't realize Rep. Omar was this attractive. Petite, professional, and conducts herself like a lady. Her and Jasmine Crockett need to get together and make SOMETHING happen....lol. I wouldn't mind seeing more of them in the future.
ProfD Posted Monday at 12:02 AM Report Posted Monday at 12:02 AM @Pioneer1...I'd imagine you're already aware that Rep. Ilhan Omar is married to a white man. As far as I know, Rep. Jasmine Crockett doesn't have jungle fever. There's still hope for her.

But like I tell some of the African women at work, no matter what religion some of yall CLAIM you are....when a White man shows up at your village some of you throw it out the window. 10 minutes ago, ProfD said: As far as I know, Rep. I find it interesting that Ilhan Omar didn't didn't take her current husband's last name. Like Kamala Harris didn't take HER husband's last name. That tells me that both of their marriages were more for business or strategic purposes than for love and commitment.

Many politicians are married as an arrangement for the sake of their careers.
Pioneer1 Posted Monday at 03:34 AM Author Report Posted Monday at 03:34 AM ProfD Do you think Rep. Omar was socially conditioned into marrying a white man? Subconsciously, yes. Consciously...very probable. Many if not most Somalis are already conditioned to find White people attractive and see them as ideal mates to hook up with for social success.

When it comes to people who roll that way, it doesn't make sense to drag them outta their dysfunctional relationship. It's like breaking up a fight and the combatants turn around and jump the savior.
Pioneer1 Posted Monday at 10:23 PM Author Report Posted Monday at 10:23 PM Here's another famous Somali woman. Very beautiful, but married a White man.
ProfD Posted Tuesday at 02:18 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 02:18 AM They are cute women no doubt. However, the fact that they don't consider themselves Black makes them uninteresting.

While the concept of race has no basis in science and was created by white racists to justify our perpetual enslavement and needs to go away, the legacy of this racism lives with us today. It is baked into and works against us in virtually every aspect of life, and we need to work to change this. Even in publishing, some of the bestselling children's book with Black characters are written by white people. Many of the nation's bestsellers lists hardly recognize books written by Black people which is why the BLK Bestseller List was created, etc. In America terms like ADOS and FBA are better suited to describing so called "Black" people here. But we can't allow this to pit ourselves against Somalians even though we are completely different ethnically, because to the rest of America indeed the rest of the western world we are all just spooks.

It will take a very long time to tear down and/or rename them. Even so, I believe people will always see and treat others a certain way based on their race.

First of all, yes....she married a White man eventually but the first American she married was actually a Black man. FBA. A basketball player. Also, I'm not sure if she does it to keep the peace and integrate herself into this society without causing a backlash, but she actually does identify as Black. I've seen her doing it in several interviews. If we were talking about most other groups of Sub-Saharan Africans like Nigerians or Zimbabweans or Kenyans....I'd whole heartedly agree with you. Somalis tend to be a special case though, lol. Many of them are very racist and anti-Black. Not only do they not identify with being Black as a race, many of them actually don't like Black people and brag about enslaving them in Somalia. Obviously all Somalis don't feel this way, but a large percentage of them do. I think as AfroAmericans we can definitely work with them, but we must be careful with them.
