Captain Ibrahim Traore ........in his own words

Many people know the right thing....yet do not do it- because they lack the courage to do it

True

That is true...

Courage Still Remains the most importance....Courage being the most important does not negate wisdom or any of the other virtues use or necessity.

The Virtues work in tandem....that is the best way.

For whatever reason, you seem to be centered on courage being the most important virtue....lol.

The Native Americans had courage.

They were so brave that they were CALLED "braves" by White folks.

But the White folks who came to this nation were SMARTER.

Less courageous....but smarter.

Look who has the upper hand today.

Most everything.....except weapons and knowledge of war

I don't know enough about Greek or Roman history to actively debate you on that one.

But I don't believe it.

No human being is free to do any and every thing....we are limited in many ways

No human is TOTALLY free to do any and everything, however when you talk about freedom...the question is "free" in what regard?

Free in speech?

Free in behavior?

Free in choice?

Free in job opportunities?
Free to quit when you want?

Free to come home at any hour of the night you want?

Free to do what????

Free to go where????

That freedom must be qualified.

Freedom is limited by your Abilities Skills and Knowledge....etc

Your freedom isn't limited by your abilities and knowledge....just your ability to EXERCISE it...lol.

Though on this point I may agree with you....your reasoning has revealed a limitation

Are you saying that a man is not free to become a true biological woman?

It depends on the society.

In the United States in many cases a man is free to become a biological woman IF he can get the right drugs and surgeries done to change his plumbing and make himself one...lol.

In some nations, this is forbidden.

So Now we not free....make up your mind which is it are we free or not?

Generally speaking, we're NOT free...and I didn't say we were.

We are free individually in SOME regards.
Again, that freedom must be qualified.

So there is a limitation to our freedom after all

Thank you for making my point.

There's no limitation to our freedom, because we're not free generally speaking.

Trade is necessary for every country to develop.

Especially one showing off the shackles of Neo-Colonialism

Trade is also necessary for nations who's people are too lazy to produce for themselves.

You have a nation that can produce anything.

You can literally grown nearly every crop on the planet...yet you're begging Europe or Asia for rice and meat.

Why?

Because you're too lazy and disorganized or too busy riding around on mopeds with Ak-47 strapped across your back fighting with eachother -to actually farm and grow your own food.

Blood diamonds, armed rebels and a Cambridge-educated warlord: The inside story of the Central African Republic civil war

"Let somebody else do the farm work."

Soon as soon as you get a little money, you give it to France, England, or Japan to send you some food to help you continue to fight...lol.

The MENTALITY must change.

Say what you want about the White racist colonists....but atleast they kept Black folks WORKING and too busy and tired to fight eachother, lol.

Labour Control and the Establishment of Profitable Settler Agriculture in Colonial Kenya, c. 1920-45 – African Economic History Network

When the White colonists got through working the shit out of them, they only had enough energy to make it back home and go to be before getting up early in the morning to go to work again.

The majority of humans on this planet are free as opposed to being enslaved by others.

Human beings as a species can be destructive. Therefore, guardrails need to be put in place to keep them from cannibalizing each other.

Human freedom does comes with conditions to maintain a certain amount of societal order i.e. civility.😎

Well.....
I'll give you the fact that freedom has "conditions" attached to it.

But if it has imposed limits to it....it's not freedom.
If your freedom has man-made imposed limits (as opposed to natural limits and boundaries) to it....it's NOT freedom.
It's still restricted.

Freedom is unrestricted.

Please provide an example of a natural limit &/or boundary that imposes on human freedom.😎

A physical disability.

A physical disability.

Gotcha.

A physical disability definitely makes it impossible or harder to do certain things. It doesn't keep people from living a life of freedom.

Stevie Wonder has been blind since birth yet he's managed to live a great life & he will go down in history as one of the greatest musician/singer/songwriter/composer this world has ever produced. His freedom facilitated it.

Imagine if Stevie Wonder lived in an oppressive society that either didn't allow his gift to florish &/or it didn't allow him to become rich & live comfortably.😎

I'm not sure what you're calling "freedom" but freedom means UNRESTRICTED.....NO LIMITS.
If a person is blind, there is definitely a limit on their sight..

Stevie has done marvelous things, but he's still not free.

On top of that......

While most people even without disabilities are restricted......like most blind people, Stevie's movements and lifestyle is even MORE restricted because of his blindness.

In the literal sense, human freedom has never been unrestricted &/or without limits.

IMO, not to the point of making use of the word freedom an oxymoron.😎

The freedom of humanity hasn't been without NATURAL limits, no.
But in my opinion the natural limits and disabilities don't count because they are obvious and usually don't involve another human restricting you but nature doing so.
....usually....because some disabilities are inflicted by other humans either intentionally or by accident.

A totally free person is one living out in the woods in the wild.
But even they have limits on how fast they can run, how far they can see, what they can do, how long they can live, etc....
I'm not talking about THOSE limits.

When I say "freedom" I'm talking about being free from man-made limitations and restrictions.

Every person has the freedom to live off the grid beyond man-made limitations & restrictions.😁

The majority of people prefer to live within a structure that allows freedom of movement & actions.😎

If I proved you wrong on that....would you admit to it?
Or would you do like Troy usually does and pivot or dance around it.....lol.

I have no problem with being proven wrong in a discussion mainly because I don't lose anything. 😁😎

Ok.....

If every person has the ability to live off the grid, what about people locked up in jails and prisons?

And even for most people who are not locked up, where can they go in the United States where they will NOT be on somebody else's property?

I went hiking in California not too long ago and even in the middle of the forest.....miles away from the city......deep into the woods....everywhere you turn it's a "private property" sign.

Can't sit on this rock...it's "private property".

Can't bend down and take a sip from THIS brook or stream of water....it's "private property".

Who owns a STREAM OF WATER????

You think you're free until some white man in a uniform and wide brim hat shows up out of nowhere and asks you do you have a license to be there.....lol.

Obviously, an incarcerated or.enslaved person isn't free to do much anything.

The United States of America is huge. There is plenty free land here.

That property is free to whoever owns it.

Freedom does not equal entitlement especially when it comes to property & material possessions.

The type of freedom you may be referring to can be bought. Just a matter of being able to afford it by any means necessary.😎

Even if you buy and own the land, you have to continue to pay rent taxes on it.....or they'll take it away, lol.

Right. There is no state with a zero property tax. Gotta raise money to pay for the maintenance of it.

Now, we are derailing Captain Traore's thread into a discussion on freedom versus having access to free sh8t.🤣😎
