Say What You Want Troy......But This Hits Hard

Featured Replies

Say what you want about how generic these Youtube videos are, but THIS one hits extra hard.

I know so many dudes in this age range in this very same situation!

They can't even USE the "financial advice" being offered in books and on videos because the "assumed" lifestyle these financial gurus speak to doesn't even apply to them.

They assume a person over 50 has a house, a career, and come from a measure of wealth already and just needs to know how to "manage" it.
They could care less about the millions of Black men who never owned a house, don't have steady employment, and have to struggle in a system that wasn't designed for them.

This video is one of the few that actually speaks to that fact.

I know thread was directed @Troy but this caught my attention.

Selling financial advice & investment courses is a hustle just like religion.

By 50 years old, Gen-Xers should have secured some type of employment to take care of themselves.

The reality is many Gen-Xers will not be able to retire & will be working until they die.

The material things...houses, cars, vacations, etc., aren't necessities on life.

There's nothing wrong with living in an apartment or sharing a house & using public transportation

The system of capitalism has people believing they need more money to survive &/or in order to retire. That's not true.😎

In a fair society, yes...I agree.
But we have to factor in racism -targeted discrimination, and the purposeful dismantling of the public educational system.

While this is true, what makes people really angry and depressed isn't necessarily their ACTUAL situation but INEQUALITY and how their situation compares to others they see in society.

In other words...........

A man may be perfectly fine catching the bus and living in an apartment for 30 years.
Until he sees an old friend he went to highschool with who isn't much smarter than him driving a Benz and living in a mansion.
Then he's going to start being a bit jealous and a bit depressed, wondering, "Why HIM and not ME????"

The competition and seeing other people HAVE while you HAVE NOT is the biggest annoyance to a lot of people.

By 50 years old, an individual should know exactly how they ended up at their particular station in life.

A +50 year old can look back over the course of their life & see where they may not have made the best decisions that would have led to having more.

Of course, it's easier to be jealous & envious of others rather look in the mirror.

Introspection is hard to drink like Bragg apple cider vinegar with the mother in it.🤣😎
