Sunday at 06:17 PM2 days comment_83396 The alarm bells went ot off when the essayist wrote that AI could kill off the human population before the decade ends. Surely, whatever problems humans have in society right now would disappear immediately upon their demise. Using this AI warning as a scare tactic or as motivation, if people knew they only had 5 or less years left to live, I wonder how differently they would approach life. 😎 Report

I'd quit working and find other means to make a living...lol.Some people think it's too scary or morbid to know exactly when you'd die, but I often wonder if it would actually be BETTER in the long run to know exactly when and how you'd die.Atleast you'd know what to spend time on and what NOT to waste time on.If you knew you only had 5 years left....I doubt most people sign up for medical school...lol.But a bet a LOT of people would apply for mortgages on houses....lol.franksterInsightful responseIt's going to take me a minute to digest it....lol. They have to be motivated or incentivized in one way or another to go to school or work or volunteer...do something with themselves. I encourage adults especially middle-aged & seniors to live their lives to the fullest extent as if they only have 5 years left on the planet. Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. That way hopefully people will pour their time & energy into things that bring them the most peace & joy & add to their happiness. What if they live more than 5 years one might ask. Brooks was a case study in being institutionalized. The man had been in prison for so long & had gotten used to the routine of it that living as a free person was impossible to do.People are institutionalized in different ways. For example, some folks are afraid to retire from their jobs.Despite having financial security for the rest of their lives, the retirement eligible person is afraid to let go of the 9 to 5 routine because they don't have anything else to do with that time.😎 Report
