Los Angeles Has Three Black Owned Bookstores

Featured Replies

If you happen to be lucky enough to live in Los Angeles, CA have access to Malik Books (pictured), Reparations Club, and Eso Won!

Malik Muhammad of Malik Books

Both Mailk Books and Eso Won been in business for over 30 years and are cultural institutions.  They also approach the business of books from a historical context  -- which is important.  For example, I don't have to explain why using Bookshop for a store's website is not only bad for your store, but bad for indie bookstores collectively.

You may learn more about these terrific stores and others from across the country, on AALBC’s list of Black-owned Bookstores: #readingblack
