Andre Ward
Born on February 23, 1984, Andre Michael Ward is a retired American boxer who had an active career from 2004 until 2017. He left the sport with an untarnished win-loss record and was a multi-time world champion in two different weight categories. He held the unified super middleweight championships from 2009 to 2015 and also the unified light heavyweight titles between 2016 and 2017.
While he held the light heavyweight title, various organizations like The Ring magazine and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board (TBRB) considered him the best pound-for-pound active boxer globally. Not just that, The Ring, the TBRB, and BoxRec all ranked him as the top active light heavyweight boxer during that period. As of the start of 2022, BoxRec places Ward as the twelfth greatest pound-for-pound boxer in history.
