Here’s a little about me, Brandon Massey. (“Massey” is not pronounced “macy,” by the way. Think of “mass” instead.)

Ok, I was born June 9, 1973, in Waukegan, Illinois. I was raised in Zion, a suburb north of Chicago. Currently, I reside in metro Atlanta. I’ve been here since February 1999. Why did I move? Tired of the snow!

Brandon MasseyI’ve been writing since I was in high school, but for as long as I remember, I’ve been fascinated by words and stories. I was the kid in class who always participated in the spelling bees; the child who always sat around the elders, listening raptly as they spun their yarns about the “old days.” It was always in the back of my mind that I would one day write stories of my own. Late in my high school years, I got serious about it and began to pursue my dream.

I originally self-published THUNDERLAND, my first novel. After managing to sell a few thousand copies on my own, Kensington Publishing Corp. in New York offered me a two-book contract, and I accepted. Kensington published a new, revised edition of THUNDERLAND in December 2002.

My second book, DARK CORNER, a vampire thriller in the tradition of Stephen King’s classic novel, SALEM’S LOT, hits stores nationwide in January 2004. I’m also editing an anthology entitled, DARK DREAMS: A Collection of Horror and Suspense by Black Writers; it will be published in October 2004. The collection will feature tales by popular writers such as Zane, Tananarive Due, and Steven Barnes, in addition to stories by rising stars and talented newcomers.

It’s my mission to bring you entertaining, thought-provoking tales of suspense for many years to come.
