Starr T. Balmer
Starr T. Balmer lives in Carson, California, and is currently the senior editor at a marketing agency where she edits and manages campaigns for clients. Additionally, she is the owner of two small businesses; Bird’s Love, an inspirational gifts compan; and Premier Editing, a copyediting and proofreading service, in Southern California. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach, she’s had the opportunity to write a variety of news and feature stories for several local publications.
However, her love for writing started when she was in the fourth grade. In fact, her teacher noticed her writing abilities and placed her stories in the reading area of the classroom so other students could read them. Particularly, her interest in children’s stories developed when she worked as an assistant editor for an educational publisher and had to review a variety of children’s picture books. As her interest grew, she decided to hone her writing skills and earn a certificate in Writing for Children from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Ultimately, her interest turned into a love for writing children’s stories and a desire to self-publish her first picture book, Scary, Scary Sasha. Learn more at www.birds- love.com.
